Welcome to examiner.net, the online home for readers of The Examiner in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri. We encourage you to comment on news articles, editorials, or blogs you find here, but we do have some guidelines we ask you to follow.

Remember, this is a community source of information, and anything posted here should be appropriate for anyone in our community to read or see.

1. You are responsible for what you post. Don't post anything that is libelous, vulgar, profane, abusive, racist or hateful. We reserve the right to remove posts that violate this policy, but we do not edit posts. If you see a post that you believe violates this rule, please report abuse here.
2.  We cannot guarantee the accuracy of comments posted here. If you spot an inaccuracy, feel free to challenge it in a counter-post.
3.  Be yourself. If you have something to say, great. But let others know who you are. Don't pose as someone else, or allow someone else to use your identity.
4.  Be civil and respect your fellow posters. Disagreements are expected, but we believe our readers can carry on a polite discussion without flaming each other.
5.  Don't use this avenue of discussion to promote your product, business or political campaign. There are appropriate places for those posts, but the discussion board is not it. If you have a news release for us, please submit press release here.
6.  Don't violate someone else's copyright. If you see something out there in cyberspace that you admire, feel free to share it or point others to it, but don't claim it as your work.
7.  Submitting more than 10 new blogs during a 24-hour period may be considered blog-spamming, and can result in the restriction of your blog privileges.
8.  Please do not post personal information in the blogs, especially full names, phone numbers, addresses, etc.
9.  Please do not post "viral" e-mails, also referred to as e-mail chain letters. If you cannot substantiate the information, please do not post it.
10.  Use good blog etiquette by staying on topic, don't use ALL CAPS or underline all your text and don't use excessive graphics or HTML in your formatting. The more easier you make the content to read, the more readers you will have. Please note: We reserve the right to immediately remove any blog that is blatantly offensive or appears to be a troll posting, with "troll" defined as a patently offensive or inflammatory post designed to gather instant retaliation.
