Jackson County Ethics Code

This County Isn't Big Enough; No Room For Ethics

Recently the Jackson County Ethics Commissioners walked away from their appointments because they were unhappy with the Legislature for making a few changes to the Ethics Code.
Do you think they did the right thing? What would you like to say to your Legislators regarding the changes. What would you like to happen as a result of the Legislature's tampering with the code? Do you think the State Ethics commission or the Attorney General is the correct place to address our grievences?
Below are the changes made by your Legislators to the new Ethics Code.

Please read the story by Michael Glover about the Jackson County Ethics Code.
I would first like everyone to know that since the code was completed by the Ethics Task Force in October of 2007, no public official has ever made a public comment regarding any specific provision of the code, except that some unnamed County Legislators did not want to be subject to its rules.
