Ode to Billy Patterson........100 years ago ..............

............man's best friend ..........a valued treasure.............apparantly in the "old days" ,  if you were a popular enough pooch  , when you passed you got a little respect.........a notice in the local paper..........a tribute ode written about you in beautiful prose........they even called the species a race...........the following excerpt is from the Examiner's  "100 Year Ago" feature...........I always enjoy this feature..........

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!!! THE FLOOD GATES ARE OPEN AT ARROWHEAD

Can this thing get any worse??? Help us football overseeer, help us!!!

THIRD QUARTER OBSERVATIONS, NEWS AND NOTES

THE CHARGERS ARE OBVIOUSLY BETTER THAN THE CHIEFS

San Diego is just a tad bit more talented the Kansas City, and that’s the honest truth. The Chiefs’ talent level is solely lacking compared to a lot of their opponents this season. Some in the press box believe that this is the worst the Chiefs have played this season.

POOR JON MCGRAW

There was no way Jon McGraw was going to make that open-field tackle on the Chargers' Darren Sproles. In fact, I don't know many DB's in the league that would have.

THE BOWE SHOW HAS MADE AN APPERANCE AT ARROWHEAD

Dwayne Bowe – drops be darned – is an amazing receiver. Great catch in the end-zone. If he and Haley work their differences out and he consistently catches the football he will be a lights our wide out in the league. I am impressed with his physical abilities on the football field.

LANCE LONG (WHO?) IS ON THE SIDELINE STAGGERED

i WENT TO THE RESTROOM AND CAME BACK AND LANCE LONG (WHO?) WAS FACE FIRST IN THE DIRT. HIS RETURN IS QUESTIONABLE.

SECOND QUARTER NEWS AND NOTES FROM ARROWHEAD

MR. IRRELEVANT MISSES A RELEVANT KICK

Fourth and 2, down by 17, Haley goes for the field goal. Mr. Irrelevant Ryan Succop doesn’t come through. Wow! Can’t leave points on the field.

MATT CASSEL WHERE ARE YOU?

What is going on with Matt Cassel and the offense today?

SAND DIEGO'S NORV TURNER IS A BAD GAME DAY COACH

Terrible challenge by Chargers head coach Norv Turner on the Chris Chambers mishandle in the end zone. The receiver has to control the ball all the way through the catch. With a coach like that, its no wonder the Chargers have gotten nowhere near the Super Bowl. They should have kept Marty!
