I was present at the grand opening for the Independence Events Center last Saturday.  I was very impressed and proud that the building is located in Independence.  I will be attending the opening hockey game on Friday and plan to attend several more games in the future.

...............I guess I'm not alone in my allegations that Hasan should have been removed BEFORE the boys and girls were dead............maybe the whole country is trying to target"anybody who looks like a Muslim" ,  dagwood...........I'm still scratching my head at how dagwood targets me for posting about Hasan......instead of targeting the terrorist..........whew.............
 
 

As I stated nearly ten days ago, ( http://www.examiner.net/sports/x1914253835/L-J-s-hip-hop-act-doesn-t-pla...) LJ's tenure is up here in Kansas City. LJ wanted it to happen, the Chiefs needed it to happen and a majority of Kansas City fans are glad it happened.

Let's all take a few minutes here on the blogs to honor the veterans and soldiers in our life and around the country. Veteran's Day isn't until Wednesday, but I personally don't think we need to wait two days to show our appreciation.
 
To all of the soldiers and veterans who read The Examiner blogs, thank you for your selfless acts in defending our country and our freedoms. Thank you for being the brave ones to keep us safe at home.
 

After making his comments on Twitter and questioning the coach, LJ's finally gone. Sure, it's going to cost the team a little bit of change to get rid of him, but it's cutting the dead weight that hasn't really produced since signing that contract.

When the politicians get through blaming Bush, the say the cause of our economic dilemma is due to unsafe business practices of the large banks like Goldman-Sachs, et al. Then why is it they are the only ones profiting from the massive government bail-outs? They said General Motors was too big to fail. GM only employs several tens of thousands. They received billions in bail-out funds. The small businesses employ several million. They have received not one dime in financial help. Are they too small to succeed? Why are they not being given any help by this government?

I promised myself I would read Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood" this year, and I am happy to report I finished the book. Having never read a book like this, I have to say I am proud of myself for staying with it. I really enjoyed it. I like Capote's writing style and the way he makes you feel like you know all the characters. His descriptions of places are not over the top and he does not take four pages to describe a tree (I really hate it when authors do that). The fact that this is a true story barely weighed in as I read the book.

A Ratty Tale

Good morning. It's been a while since I have been on the blog or even came to the site. I have a problem and this I would like to ask your opinon on this matter.
First this is going to take a bit so bare with me.

How many of us out there are sick and tired of hearing about the Larry Johnson situation of where he opened up his mouth too wide and said some things apparently he didn't mean to say after the league fined him $600,000. dollars. and then because of his whinning they took that down to $300,000....Hey chiefs where is your application I would like an application...No i can't play football and really don't care how it's played but for the money he makes I can run some plays, might not be in the right direction but i can run.

Should our laws be changed when it comes to impaired drivers? Maybe if laws were more stiff there would be less repeat offenders.
