Porter’s article about the busses on Thursday

This is exactly what I’ve been trying to get U all to see..
the press and the City Leaders don’t see this bus service as a priority…
They are looking for another Grant so some one else will pay for it..
Porter starts off with: residents of an apartment complex in Indep.,
yatta, yatta , yatta…
believe the cut back would adversely affect their ability to MIGRATE, around the city in a timely manner…
Migrate around the city,???
Is that a poor people thing…
when the mayor and the Council went out to the ground breakin for the skakin rink, did they Migrate out there?
When U and your friends go some where do U migrate there ?
Doesn’t migrate infer that we are packin up and movin on?
I mean I know that’s your first choice for the bus riders in town, but were here to stay Sir…

you are funny!!! You take one word I use and dog me out for it.....From what I understand migrate means to move from one place to another, no matter if it's to another country, another city or another place, you know, like from home to the hospital, from the hospital to the grocery store and back home---one place to another....Trust and believe I don't have the greatest vocabulary, but I think I know how to put a few sentences together. But, I did get a hoot out of your vocab bashing......I'm still chuckling right now...

And I really doubt, U don't have the greatest vocabulary,
I just thought it put the worst possible spin on people who ride the buss.
I am curious why though when U Had Ms Davis there to speak with and she admitted she knew Phil,( the jerk), was right & her Judges were wrong, why U didn’t ask her about it…
Why doesn’t she admit they made a mistake and move on???
Why drag this through the courts and cost taxpayers $$$
It is now just a Psssting contest and taxpayers are gonna pay for it…
Why didn’t U ask her that???

Two versions to ever story I guess. I'm just presented each views in an objective way.......from what I gather, Mrs. Davis doesn't feel the judges were wrong.....and Mr. Lindsey doesn't feel he was wrong, so there you have it.....

Back in my hay day I did a little consulting on city bus systems. I designed the garage in Omaha, critiqued the systm and garage in Springfield and here in KC. Here in KC there are too many suburbs with too much iput into the syste, rather than a central head who calls all the shots.. Take a look at Johnson County. They opted out of the ATA network way back and have run a much more sucessful system for years.
The KC folks have an almost impossible task, serving how many cities, how many cultures over a spread out area, depending on myriad city councils for partial funding, serving different people with different wants. It's kinda like working for upteen bosses and able to satisfy none. All of this is one reason light rail may never be a going concern in this area. Too many cooks, or in this case, too many transportatin directors, does indeed spoil the broth.

It seems
Like a general opinion on the busses is the PEOPLE want NO cuts in service and
even more service should be our goal for the PEOPLE OF INDEP.
Now there are the 50,000 that ride the busses and don’t bother to vote… ..
As the KC mayor tries to get lite rail going again our bus service should be expanding,
that is one of the keys to the rail is bus service at the end of line.
But the KC bus service seems to be the tip and major stumbling point of the mess…
KC holds all the cards and makes the decisions …
Indep is regulated into thanking them for any crappy deal they offer us…
They BE de only game in town..
And an Indep bus system that doesn’t go into KC would be silly…
So we have to find a way to play ball with KC on this..
But first and most of ALL the powers to be, ELECTED and NOT, have to make this a priory, until they move it up, ahead of ball fields and flower gardens and new animal shelters it will not be properly address…
The City just last month spent $60 grand to get an opinion on wheather to continue to hire AMR or to beef up our fire department first responders? Who can’t figure that out? We are getting screwed by KC Transit system cause we don’t own it, AMR is doing the same thing, Will Swoffer says the Fire Dept is the answer, he’s a Council person and a Fireman? That $60 grand they wasted would have kept the busses running???
You may not like it, but until the people that depend on the busses get to make some decisions about the busses they will S@#k…the way AMR does..
We will do that, in 2 years we will vote for a
NEW MAYOR & COUNCIL SEATS..

Well I migrated up to the store
Then I managed to migrate back home

Hope U have a good night and the sauce turns out great..
It’s worked for me for 40 years…
With any luck I’ll migrate out to the kitchen ina few and make dinner, the wal-nut schrimp at HV on sale for $3.99 is great…
