I always like the “we learned everything we need to know”
In Kindergarten…
Like tell the truth…
Keep your hands off your neighbor…
Don’t take things that are not yours…
Say your prayers & kiss your Mom before you go to sleep..
Wash your hands before you eat…
I used to tell the guys in the half way house,
God gave us ten rules, the Ten Commandments..
They were too tough we couldn’t do it…
So when Jesus came he boiled it down to two rules…
Love God, Love each other….
If U loved me, U would not treat me that way…
It works for me pretty well …
I don't care what belief system, or religion you follow. It always goes back to the "Golden Rule." Remember, Black and White, Wrong or Right... It really is that simple. However, it doesn't matter what they teach in school, as many of the parents these days obviously have short memories. Of course, when the parents are continually dealing with bullies and slackers on the job who never learned the rule, suddenly it becomes a struggle to give the kids that one on one direction that is required to teach them to become respectful and gracious. I mean if Mom and Dad are selfish bullies, most likely Jr. will turn out the same way. Sometimes our community's problems are a little deeper than what's on the surface. However, it's always easier to blame, than to look in the mirror for an answer.
I’ve been fightin Bullies
Since the second grade.
Dad always taught me that once You show them your not afraid and are willing to take a few licks to give a few…
they always fold…
It’s worked for me for 50 years….
The first one was, Walter Winshuffle he was in 4th grade I was in second…
after a month of him torchering me I took him on…
I was so scared I hit him so hard I knocked him out..
That was the last day of Walters rain, the fist day of my first school suspension,
and the best day of the rest of my life…
My Dad took me for ice cream on the way home from school where they call him to come and get me….
How many bullies today hide in their suits, with their cluttered desks, and behind the "system". My theory on that one is to put a few cameras and microphones in their face, and ask em' some tough questions. You see a person's true colors when they don't have time to rehearse their script, if you know what I mean?
I was always taught to stand up to bullies myself, as there are several other vultures in the shadows watching and waiting for their turn at you. Once again, the schools are teaching our kids not to bully each other, and their parents go to work and do it every day. "Is it good for the Children?" More on that later...
First time it’s really hard and as I said I was scared silly but the more U do it the easier it gets and now at 60 it’s old hat I don’t even think twice just wade in…
Even in my chair I have chased a couple of AH down 23 street …
after it’s over and I calm down, I laugh my butt off…
one of my old Navy buddies saw me one day and followed and
when the guy got away he pull up and said what in the hell are U doin???
We had a good laugh…
You can walk away, walk away, and walk away, but a bully's ego won't let them leave you alone. Finally, you have to take a stand, or they will never leave you alone. You see, bullies are just individuals who are bored and unhappy with their own existence. Therefore, their sole purpose in life is to ruin the party for everybody else.
