Making a book worm
I promise I haven't just been neglecting my blog on purpose... things have been a little crazy in the Boothe house as we make preparations for our little girl – Juliet Louise if you wanna' keep score.
With all our free time spent daydreaming and planning what God has in store for us in January, I've found little time to read (and if I'm truly honest with my blogging friends, I'll have to admit I'm still reading "In Cold Blood," which I'm still really enjoying).
While my husband hopes our daughter will be musically-gifted, I'm really hoping for a little book worm – a little bundle of joy who likes to read and will curl up next to me on the couch and read (I'd also like a little girl who likes to color as much as me so I don't feel so bad about the large drawer full of coloring books in our home office).
My dear friends, knowing me so well, planned a baby shower for me last weekend and to my surprise, asked all of the guests to bring a children's book – a symbol of my love for the written word. They had special pink and brown bookends made that were shaped like books, and framed a beautiful poem about reading that I got to hang up in the nursery.
My family and friends responded with a wide variety of books ranging from Bible stories for children to Curious George and Cat in the Hat. I cannot wait to start reading these books to my daughter because I'm sure they will unlock wonderful new worlds for her imagination.
I'm very blessed to have friends who know me so well and family and friends who love me enough to respond the way they did.

Hi Stephanie!
It's been a while! Seems like everything is going great in the "Boothe house". When is little Juliet Louise expected to make her arrival? (Love the name by the way!)

.......forgive me for this Stephanie...........lol.........it just struck me as funny............and I quote you from above
"I'll have to admit I'm still reading "In Cold Blood," which I'm still really enjoying)"......end quote........then the following from you later in the blog.............
" My family and friends responded with a wide variety of books ranging from Bible stories for children to Curious George and Cat in the Hat. I cannot wait to start reading these books to my daughter "......end quote
..........ROFL..........I realize Capote is a good writer........as evidenced by your admission of "REALLY ENJOYING In Cold Blood".......but what could be better than sitting down for a little "murder and mayhem" with Truman , then switching out for a few Bible stories and "Cat In The Hat?"........I'm just saying that the inclusion of a real life murder into your friendly world just seemed to be a paradox..................perhaps I would have found it less ironic if it were a fictional story..............I'm not throwing stones , I'm just seeing the humor here............I hope you do too......................

I do see the irony in it. :0) Capote is quite a stretch from my normal literary selections. I wouldn't say it's my favorite book, but I am trying to expand my horizons and I'm pleasantly surprise. I did put Capote down for a few minutes this morning and read nursery rhymes to the baby. :0) You're right, it is pretty funny!
.......if the baby gets a confused look on it's face , make sure you have the right book..........ROFL...............
