Book 1 down

It only took me a week to read My Sister's Keeper. I could not put this book down.

Anna is such a lovable protagonist, and the author does an amazing job drawing readers into her story. Even in the many plot twists. I certainly never saw this ending coming, and I have to say after a day of reflection I'm OK with the way it ended.

One thing I hate about books is predictable plots, and this one certainly is anything but predictable. Every character's plot take an interesting turn, and the author does an amazing job making sure there are no unanswered questions.

This may go down as one of my favorite reads. So after crying for about 45 minutes after finishing "My Sister's Keeper," I'm on to the next book in my summer reading list. I've decided to go for the lighter of my selections as my emotions need a break.

I started reading Chelsea Handlers "My Horizontal Life" last night, and so far I have to say I'm surprised by Handler's ability to draw a reader into her writing. But I'm only 4 pages in. I'll keep you posted.

Tell me about the best book you've read lately.

GREAT book. That was my first Jodi Picoult. Now you have to put "Change of Heart" on your list, another great Picoult book.
I'm almost done with the last Twilight book, "Breaking Dawn". I know you couldn't get into the first one and Stephanie Meyer isn't the most accomplished author I've ever read but the books are just Gosh Darn Fun!

I don't know. It wasn't so much the book that I disliked as it was the characters. I just find myself not caring what happens to the characters in the Twilight books, which makes it hard to finish reading it.

"My Sister's Keeper" however, I'm still thinking about the characters and I finished it two days ago.
