On the lighter side

Advertising compaines are really running out of geniune marketing ploys, or maybe I have one too many IQ points? Now I do not claim to be a genius by any stretch, but I was recently watching television and there were a series of commercials for Coors Light. Apparently they have a 'cold activated can'  that turns blue when it's cold so you know when it is ready to drink, saving you from drinking a warm beer. Wow, now that is incredible, an aluminium can that turns blue when cold. I can only guess that the target market group here are victims of horrible bbq grill accidents that have resulted in the loss of feelings in their hands. Which is great for them, I would feel a great sense of relief if I was included in that group. However, what is the real hook here? The incredible amount of time I am going to save by not touching the can to see if it is cold? Or maybe saving me from asking the bartender to replace my warm beer with a cold one? How embarrasing for the bartender, to have accidently served a warm beer. Way to go Coors, maybe next you can develop a beer can that opens itself or how about a can that throws it self away. Maybe they should spend more time in improving their beer and not the can.
No offense to Coors fans or victims of horrific bbq accidents.

Seems to have made its point. You recall the product name. You recall the message, no matter how innane.You may not buy Coors because of its blue can, but they have gained brand recognition and the next time you buy beer, if you do, it just may be that your choice will be Coors, just because you recognize the name. As far as they are concerned, mission accomplished.

..........ROFL........I saw that commercial.......those execs have to come up with SOMETHING to try and earn those inflated salaries.........maybe it's just me.........but  I'm thinking if somebody isn't smart enough to know when their beer is cold enough to drink?.............perhaps they shoudn't be drinking anything that makes them "less smart".........but men love gadgets and toys.......so to combine a gadget with beer?........lol.........what's next?..........a curvaceous bikini clad picture that the swimsuit disappears as the can warms up?............

 Why make the hot chick in the bikini go away as the can warms? Instead, make a puzzle 12 pack, where some combination of the 12 cans creates a picture of a bikini-clad hottie.
