Wal Mart
I haven't stepped foot in a Wal Mart since June 2005. Will never shop there again, no matter how poor I am. Back then, it was because I learned that they would require their workers to do overtime without pay and limited their hours so they wouldn't qualify for the company health insurance. After what happened to that poor woman who was hit by a semi and became unable to work, and then Wal Mart trying to take the settlement she won from the trucking company to pay for her medical bills that were over and above the health care limits, I became even more committed to not patronizing them. You can get good deals at a lot of other stores if you look for them. Rick's Picks on 40 Highway has great discounts, and Family Dollar as well as Aldi are good places to shop as well.
I was sad to hear about the Main Street Coffee Shop closing. It was a great little place to go for good music and great coffee. I wish Lois luck in the future.
check this out everyone!
here ya. this is a great, funny and right video about now days.....

Pretty good….
Pretty good….
I don’t understand the draw of Sam’s
You get a great big container, but U pay per OZ more than U do at a normal store on sale???
Of course living along a gal of pickles is about a lifetime supply….
But when I figure the cost per oz against a reg size jar from one of the Dollar stores the small jar is cheaper….
But they have people fooled into thinking they are getting a good deal…
I mean the stuff is very good quality but it’s not cheap….
That’s all part of the Dumbing down and why kids cannot do math…
lol
thanks rebel
anytime....
yeah i thought you'd get a little kick out of that one!

Not quite...
The GM Fairfax Plant is participating in the company-wide buyout program, but not because of troubles at that particular plant. Fairfax produces the hot selling Chevy Malibu and the Saturn Aura, which also has respectable sales. They aren't cutting back production, but talking about increasing it to meet demand.
Ford Claycomo is another story, because it makes Ford F150s, and the truck market is basically dead right now. They eliminated a second shift, but moved most of those workers to the car plant next door to make Ford Escapes and Mercury Mariners, which are selling well because they are not full-sized SUVs.
Bass Pro is sucking wind because there is no other retail around it, and more people are buying sporting goods on-line. Why go to a store full of screaming kids and thier parents who aren't buying anything, but are only there to gawk at the fish tank and dead animals, when you can easily click, "Buy" from your peaceful home?
Another example is Hartman Heritage, which is losing stores right and left. Latest Hartman Heritage death toll: Ultimate Electronics; Macaroni Grill, Linens & Things, and now Bassett Furniture.
Looks to me like the new Hockey arena is in the only good TIF development in town.

There’s this box in my barn..
There’s this box in my barn..
It’s sort of over in there corner, and there is this little box that Billy bob got for me and if I point the little box at the big one and push on the ON/OFF button a picture comes on the big box and there are people in there talkin to each other…
well this morning they said Toyota has had there worstest year in the last 5 and that Wal-mart is cutting back on there help;….
That’s what the box said…
I know my friend Morti said belivein the people talkin in the box just makes me look igernat, but ever-single one of them folks is sayin the same thing…I checked them all….
‘I’m just amazed were gonna have enough money to build our Hockey Arena, of course I ain’t sure why we want one….
I got a mule that wears a straw hat, but I don’t think he really likes it much,
but it makes the neighbors laugh….
The little box....
In my head told me too do it. LOL....
If people don't know by now that most of these companies are downsizing for that reason of a bad economy then we need to ask what little box have they been living in. MMinnoe we both know what boxes we are living in what about the rest of you! Ours is called reality and we are stuck, yours is well I have no clue but it isn't the same one we are in that is for sure.
