Well now that the Horse is gone, Lets keep the barn shut up tight!
There are two articles in today’s EX about FW………
One is by the Editor on OP-ED page, last Par says;
Fireworks injure thousands every year with burns to hands and eyes????
In MO. Alone hundreds will end up in ER’s???
Dr. Lori Duncan at CP Hospital says she see's lots of CHILDREN with hand and eye injuries.
Fireworks are responsible for the greatest number of injuries, followed by bottle rockets & SPARKLERS ????
This released by Central Jackson County Fire???
Then they offer some safety tips, my favorite is don’t use them indoors???
Where were these people last Aug. 08 when the council made them Legal?
No one but Civil and i were against it at all???
As I said before a trip to ER, is about $3 to 5 grand, plus the pain to the little one?
Why do I care more about Ur kids than U appear to????
All the pain and hurt that will be caused in the next few days so that 12 groups can make $2 to 3,000 each???? It’s DUMB, it’s STUPID, it makes NO sense at any level…
It will cost us $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in cash and treasure?????
People in KCK were on TV beggin for some one to hepl with all the killings? A U may think about quit shooting each other????
When they are lamenting all the fireworks damage next week, maybe they can rethink why they sold them?

The nightmare kids opened up their front door and watched me for a short time. I had my bag of trash in my hands from them.

It has to do with money. People want it so bad they will do anything. The 4th has always been a fun day in our family. I have many happy childhood memories about the 4th of July. The kids by my shop blow them off till 2 A.M. is what I was just told by a neighbor. These kids have turned it into a few weeks of hell in the neighborhood. I just picked up a 1.75 Liter of Vodka a 40 oz Miller High Life, Bud Light beer cans and empty bottles of Robitussin. I knocked on some doors and asked people to please call 911. The nightmare kids opened up their front door and whatched me for a short time. I had my bag of trash in my hands from them. This is all so much larger than Fire Works and Graffiti. The Father of these kids thinks it's cool. He has had under age drinking in his home for years. Kids learn how to disrespect and how to hate they are recuited many times by good old mom and dad. The Fire Works will end soon again but the acts of disrespect will last a lifetime if heart are not changed.
Pleas b careful, they don't need a reason to hurt U ???
These kids don't need a reason to do anything. Good old dad ran into a kid on foot just for the fun of it in his truck. People get by with things like this till they meet their match one day. I have had enough of this. We all play a part in pushing crime away. I am doing my part the best way that I can.
Movie Talk editor: How can you dis The Reader? There was almost a full house for La Vie En Rose when my wife and I saw it. Very well recieved also by that audience. Your comment on No Country for Old Men is super, right on, or better yet, write on! Hawk.
OK, SOME people saw "La Vie en Rose." The house was about half-full when I saw it at the Tivoli. It was well done, but the subject matter was depressing. Heck, the only scene that was life-affirming at all was, ironically, the boxing scene. That said, she totally deserved the Oscar.
I just thought "The Reader" was good, not great. There were about a dozen movies like that last year, and I think none of them were four-star, timeless classics. No, not even "Slumdog Millionnaire," which I really liked. I like Kate Winslet a lot, and I'm glad she won the Oscar, but the movie overall just didn't say anything new or profound. But Hollywood loves doing Holocaust movies and giving awards for it. That's cool.
Anyone going to see "Public Enemies" today? I'd love to hear about it.
