Wow! I get that paper - and that feature WORKS!
They just caught another bad guy and I think are averaging at least one arrest a week on it. People in Northeast (unlike the East Side) actually call in when they see a "wanted" fugitive in the paper.
They've gotten a couple of awards for that column as well, most recently a CrimeStoppers International Media award, beating out over 2,000 other media outlets world wide. The Most wanted piece is what got them that award!
Pretty heady stuff for a "grocery rag"
(which its not, they actually get awards from the Missouri Press Assn too)

We need a crime watch section, we need people to call in, take pictures, write down lic #’s and be aware of what is going on in there neighborhood….
