Sutherlands TV spot defines the problem

Sutherlands TV spot defines the problem
I’ve seen these a lot over the last few years and always just shook my head ..
A Sutherlands add this am: Buy $900 worth of Kitchen Cabinets and don’t pay for them until, 2010 No interest no payments..??
Not picking on Dicki, I used to play ball for his Dad…
But this is the problem we are in, encouraging people to live beyond their means and spend money they don’t have…
I saw an ad this am for a store in NY that deals in “resale-retail” that’s used clothing… they were explaing how U could get a $300 pair of jeans for $100…
There is NO way a pair of jeans can cost $300 bucks…
In about, 1961 or so I wanted a pair of Levi’s, not jeans Levi’s, I kept telling my mom, she kept bringing home, Sears, Wards, Penny’s jeans, I said no mom Levi’s…
the ones with the squiggle on the pocket…
So I mowed lawns in the East gate neighbor hood got $4.99
U got a quarter or fitty cents then for a lawn, together and walked up to the Mall at Blue Ridge and bought me a pair of button fly Levi’s… Life was good…
Somewhere our country has lost that…
We live on Credit, we are encouraged to live on credit, and eventually some body has to get paid…
So now after decades of credit, some one has to get paid …
Easiest way to get out of a hole???
QUIT DIGGIN
That’s what we are going to have to do, we can’t bail out every one who made a bad choice, they are going to have to crash and start over…
I filled a BK in 82 for about a half million, took me ten years to get over it, but I learned about living with in my means, and not spending money I don’t have…
I’ve lived on a Navy pension now about ten years, I always have a few bucks left at the end of the month, enough to share with neighbors if needed, but I don’t buy on credit, I pay bills on the first of the month, I don’t buy things I can’t afford… If I really want something I save up for it…
