Scott Huffman, seems to be in a Huff?
In his LTE that the EX posted today He is very upset?
In a Huff if U will???
He attacks the EX for openly supporting the PoooLiccceee Tax?
Well they printed Ur letter against it???????
He attacks EVERY level of GoBerment for raising taxes and wasting $$$$$
They built a $10 million genealogy center, doesn’t like his ancestors I guess?
Says they have spent $12 million on Emergency Communications that are “WORTHLESS”??
U can’t spend $12 mil on something that is worthless; it’s worth $8.5 mil at a Garage sale???
Then in closing he says vote NO if they have less money maybe they will spend it more wisely???
Now there is logic that would be lost on a ten year old???
Sorry Scott get out of Ur Huff,  try and cheer up,
and realize next time U need a Cop, ONE WILL SHOW UP! ! !

Some people have gotten paranid over this tax. If the police spent $12B for a communications system I bet it was thru a fed. grant and I bet the manufacturer is under contract to make the thing work at his expense. No big deal. You know, I hope these people are self employed. If not, I wonder how they would react if their employer, upon being asked to give them a raise, said if you would spend your money more wisely you wouldn't need a raise.

Civil, Is this communication system part of a federal mandate that all minicipalities are having to comply with? My council person in Blue Springs was telling me we'll have to come up with $10-12 million in the next 3-4 yrs. I'm not sure this ones an option. It's so these departments (fire police and surrounding police) can communicate. It's a pretty sophiscated system that's supposed to make their job safer

I don't know the answer to your questions, but it would only make sense for first responders to be able to share communications across jurisdictions. God, I wonder who thought that up?

............erhh........that genealogy center was paid for by Independence TAXPAYERS?.............10 million dollars?..............I  wondered about the REAL need for that place..........that certainly seems like money that could have been better spent on POLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE?........................help me out here................I like MY ancestors and found everything back to 1750 online for nothing.............but AKC records are easier to access I guess............this "blog dog" is sniffin for  "phonies , fruits and dope" today........there seems to be plenty of topics for complainers to blog on today........you know?.....the professionals like Mr. Kitaniji......but I don't see any of them................why is  THAT?................this is their BIG opportunity to contribute........and they are strangely quiet.........one COULD wonder if they just like to complain.........where o where is "Larry , Moe , and Curly?"..............

Looks like Midcontinent Public Library paid a half mill for the land...and then started a fundraising drive for the project.  Doesn't directly say where the full 8 mill was coming from.
 
So, I take it our tax dollars indirectly paid for this land, since I'm thinking we must pay library taxes as a part of our property taxes?

Not really a conspiracy but this stuff is planned so far out by the time its built everyone wonders where it came from?
I have a book layin here that says, Capital Improvements Indep.2007-2013?
It amazing how fat out they plan, approve and then when its getting built we all say,"where did that come from"
The Hockey Arena is a perfect example, I've been ragin against it for over 4 years, Most of Indep don't even know where its going to be??????

Hey I started with the Chief's in 63 when they played at the old downtown stadium @ 12 & Cleveland, got to set in the press box? it was GREAT, the players would sit and talk with U for hours if U waited around after the game?
What a time to be a kid???
I want this team to be GOOD so bad I can taste it and I still think they can, I just hate it when they have crapy attitudes...  Like that old Bible story In Jerico, the guy was out numbered about 10 to 1  and the first think he said to his troops? ANY ONE who doesn't want to be here LEAVE?????????
