Richard Sexton’s LTE in today’s EX…
Very well written and thought out, but he’s fightin an up hill battle all the way.
He agrees with Jackson County Leg  Mr. Spence that people needs should come before animal needs???
He suggests that the $5 mill for the new Shelter could be spent on PEOPLE??
What a NUT job this guy is????
I do have an idea though, once the new shelter is built, the homeless people could dress up in dog suits and run around out by the shelter? They could get picked up as strays and then live  very well in the new dog shelter???

This is sad that people don't count as much. We talked about this last night at the Crime Task Force meeting. It's hard to think we would put heated dog runs and a first class animal shelter in the size of 10 large residences and ignore people who truly need a hand up who are disabled or mentally ill. Mr. Richard Saxton's letter was an eye opener. It was also eye opening to see that Grandmother Amy L. Onka had no place to turn when the joy of her life came up missing. If her grand daughter Preacious Sarah was a dog missing we would know were to turn but because she was a 17 old young lady we had no place to get the word out to the people. Only the blogs. May God Speed for 87 handicapped persons  that are awaiting residential placement in Jackson County and all who need our help.

Government at work: Would you believe a story about the Los Angeles Zoo spending millions (about $7 million) in taxpayer money on a Chinese Golden Monkey exhibit -- only to have the Chinese decide they don't want to send the monkeys? Yeah they work with grants and Rich People, but really???
We can’t find $190,000 for bus service but we borrow $86 million for a Hockey Arena?
We have to have a special election for 3/8 cent tax to hire more Cops?
But we already have spent $42,000 for plans for a FREE animal shelter????
