Main point....
Is that since they cannot enforce the unenforceable law then regulate the unenforceable.....
You have burnt kids because parents don't watch their children and their actions and the ones that do watch their kids and actions don't care. So then instead of outlawing fireworks regulate where the police can. I will send you a copy of my email that was sent to Peacock and let you read it.
I realize there are a lot of people that are against fireworks and I do realize the law is unenforceable, but for parents like me that want to have a 4th with their kids and can't really isn't fair. I don't believe children need to have control of the fireworks and technically neither should a lot of adults, but on the other hand why should I have to drive 3 hours to set off fireworks. There are a lot of people that doesn't see that side of things, and I get that but I shouldn't have to leave to have fun with my kids. We don't have the money in the first place to buy a lot of fireworks and the kids don't usually sit over here at the Truman Library to watch them. So I have to send my kids out of town every year so they can have a 4th, and that cuts into my time with my kids. There are several parents in this situation, not just me and everyone that I have talked too has stopped even celebrating the holiday do to this.
Do you honestly think that is fair to everyone? I live on a street were they cannot even set off smoke bombs because we will get the cops called on us. So instead of giving my children a holiday with us I send them away like I don't want them so they can have fun.

I don't have to worry about them getting burnt because they are not allowed to set them off. Their dad or us has to set them off or a responsible adult they are with. My ex is very aware they are not allowed to set off anything other than smoke bombs and sparklers until they are 16 and even then they can only set them off infront of us. Once my kids are an adult then they can do whatever they want but as long as they live in my home they are not allowed to set off explosives until then.
Last year there wasn't a display free for us because we couldn't see anything except the one they set of 2 blocks away. The trees are too high for us to even see the cities display anymore and if you set fireworks off here like I said you will get the cops called if caught. So we no longer celebrate it, other than ground fireworks and if someone calls the cops on me so be it. We usually try to wait until 2 of our neighbors leave and set off smoke bombs, snappers and fountains along with sparklers. Either way I don't care if they have an ordinance or not, I just don't feel that our ordinance should be left up to one person only. She/he shouldn't be the only one making ordinance that is all. I wanted them to hear the people whether they listened is a whole other story. LOL....

MMinnoe we will agree to disagree, because I will not budge on my point a view and you won't either so we will call it quit on the firework ordinance.
Reason:SANITY; I won't allow my children until they are at least 15 to shoot of fireworks and even then will be under parent supervision until they are 18. Then they are an adult and I cannot run their life.
I refuse to drive to Arrowhead to see fireworks and I don't go downtown without protect and hubby usually has to work the next day and be there at 3 am. So there is no time for family events of this sort.

These fireworks U buy at road side stands are crap, from China and they are total bombs…
even the baker can get hurt they are just dangerous, they scare me and nothing does…

I know you care for my family and I really appreciate it, but I promise you that I won't do anything to put an explosive in any of my childrens hands for quite a few years. We really care about you, but I usually don't buy anything that is larger and powerful.
I have seen where friends of mine have purposely aimed fireworks at each other and have gotten badly burned over. I laughed because they were in pain and because they were stupid. Then I told them they were stupid and stopped being friends with them over it.
