Real classy guys. Pissing on the empty grave before his body is even cold.
How about showing some respect for a guy who devoted his whole life to serving the nation? Even John McCain and Orrin Hatch are willing to do at least that.
pete, It's kind of hard to get all quivery lip'ed when a guy knows he's on his deathbed and he's still more consumed with his mortal power and control. You'll recall when his fellow senator John Kerry ran for president Mitt Romney was govenor and Ted could'nt stand that a Republican Govenor might be in control of replacing the vacant senate seat so he and his fellow dems changed the law to what it is today of an election in not less that 145 nor more than 165 days. Knowing he might die in office and now having a dem in the govenors mansion Ted wanted a 'do over'. These guys give new meaning to the loosly coined phrase "public servant". I hope I have more on my mind on my deathbed than the power and well being of a bunch of croneys in the cesspool of government

BID FAREWELL TO TEDDY.. WHAT A MAN !
As soon as his cancer was detected, I noticed the immediate attempt at the
"canonization" of old Teddy Kennedy by the mainstream media. They are
saying what a "great American" he is. I say, let's get a couple things
clear & not twist the facts to change the real history.
1. He was caught cheating at Harvard when he attended it. He was expelled
twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat
for him.
2. While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up
for four years instead of two. Oops! The man can't count to four! His
father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to England (a step up from
bootlegging liquor into the US from Canada during prohibition), pulled the
necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to
ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea , where a war was raging No
preferential treatment for him! (like he charged that President Bush received).
3. Kennedy was assigned to Paris , never advanced beyond the rank of
Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged. Imagine a person of
his "education" NEVER advancing past the rank of Private!
4. While attending law school at the University of Virginia, he was cited
for reckless driving four times, including once when he was clocked driving
90 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood with his headlights off
after dark... Yet his Virginia driver's license was never revoked.
Coincidentally, he passed the bar exam in 1959. Amazing!
5. In 1964, he was seriously injured in a plane crash and hospitalized for
several months. Test results done by the hospital at the time he was admitted had shown he was legally intoxicated. The results=2 of those tests remained a "state secret" until in the 1980's when the report was unsealed.
Didn't hear about that from the unbiased media, did we?
6. On July 19, 1969, Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island in
Massachusetts . At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed his chauffeur's keys to his
Oldsmobile limousine and offered to give a ride home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a
campaign worker. Leaving the island via an unlit bridge with no guard rail,
Kennedy steered the car off the bridge, flipped, and into Poucha Pond.
7. He swam to shore and walked back to the party passing several houses and
a fire station. Two friends then returned with him to the scene of the accident. According to their later testimony, they told him what he already knew - that he was required by law to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. Kennedy called the police the next morning and by then the wreck had already been discovered. Before dying Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor above her head in the upside-down car.
The Kennedy family began "calling in favors", ensuring that any inquiry
would be contained. Her corpse was whisked out-of-state to her family
before an autopsy could be conducted.
Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says he
repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne and he didn't call
police because he was in a state of shock. It is widely assumed Kennedy was drunk, and
he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix the
problem overnight. Since the accident Kennedy's "political enemies" have referred to him
as the distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick. He pleaded guilty to leaving the scene
of an accident, and was given a
SUSPENDED SENTENCE OF TWO MONTHS.
Kopechne's family received a small payout from the Kennedy's insurance
policy and never sued. There was later an effort to have her body exhumed
and autopsied, but her family successfully fought against this in court, and Kennedy's
family paid their attorney's bills.... a "token of friendship"?
8. Kennedy has held his Senate seat for more than forty years, but considering his longevity, his accomplishments seem scant. He authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care easier for the indigent, funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors, and is widely held as the "standard-bearer for liberalism". In his very first Senate roll he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S. immigration policy upside down and opened the 0Afloodgate for immigrants from third world countries..
9. Since that time, he has been the prime instigator and author of every
expansion of an increase in immigration up to and including the latest attempt to grant
amnesty to illegal aliens. Not to mention the pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme
Court nominees, as if it was the standard bearer for the nation in matters of "what is right"
10. He is known around Washington as a public drunk, loud, boisterous, and
very disrespectful to ladies.
Let's not allow the spin doctors to make this jerk a hero -- how quickly the
American public forgets what his real legacy is.
Before Mitt Romney QUIT his governor position, he had a worse approval rating than George W at his lowest point. So in that situation, would it really have been representative of the people of Massachusetts to have the completely incompetent Romney appoint a Republican Senator to a seat that hasn't been in the "R" column in 20+ years?
You'll have to reconcile that one with the dead guy and his croneys that were soooooo insecure they saw fit to change the law in the first place
So are you arguing against state's rights now?
Bottom line here, any time the laws of Massachusettes were changed, it was done through by legally elected representatives of that state, following the letter of their law.
I suppose if a state wants to run their affairs like a bannana republic and change the laws every few years for their political agenda via the 'legal' process so be it. But that doesn't protect them from the public opinion of their actions. I just happen to think it smells. You guys that want to hero worship these politicians like they're on some sort of mission from god or worse yet think they are gods are a dangerous lot.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA !! Good one! Oh my, that's hilarious!
Now that is a good example of a sarcastic response!
hey pensive...i was saying piss on ted kennedy for many years before he was dead.
and may he rest in peace IF he want to heaven....if not i guess he gets what murderers should get
whole life serving??
hes lucky he wasnt serving life....but thats what money he was paid by special interest groups, and a kennedy name gets you in this country. daddy joe...who was a bigger criminal/womaniser than teddy was, tought him that.
in my opinion he was only serving himself.
t
People have to EARN respect, it's not just given automatically because one happens to be a human being. I can think of LOTS of humans that I have no respect for, alive or dead.
Complacency is the enemy. Be educated. Be aware. Be involved.
........we're not as "classy" as YOU PensivePete.........why don't you grab a six pack.....your "Christianity Today" & your " Hustler" magazines........and head on out to the open road for a little "drinking and driving" that you seem to defend regularly..............you didn't mind us speaking a little truth about MJ when HE died.......just because Uncle Ted is on your political side he "get's a pass?"..........I didn't enter a blog "header" on this because of the possible negativity.......but the truth is that even the "nice" Anderson Cooper" and "Larry King" brought it up....so since it WAS brought up here I decided to post an OPINION on it......I doubt any of Ted's family is going to be reading OUR blog posts....again I remind YOU of YOUR statement about Palin and her daughters....and "how being a public figure opens you up to public scrutiny " and in her case justified jokes about her 14 year old daughter being raped....because she was at a baseball game.......it would seem that YOU have a double standard PistolPete.....hmmmmmmm.......when it suits your purpose.....where was YOUR class about Palin's daughter being skewered about sexual references?.......sorry the "rules apply" all the time......just following YOUR lead big boy..............people have been "bringing up" Ted's accident for decades because it "stunk"...........all the way around..and TWO months probation was a "slap in the face" to the victim's family....if that had been YOUR daughter I'm guessing that you would have a QUITE different opinion......Ted Kennedy BOUGHT his verdict...plain and simple........that being said........ you'll notice what I said about that in my original post............. in response to mminoe's blog header......that it was a long time ago and Ted should be forgiven for his mistake.........but I don't know if you believe in forgiveness....with whatever "classy" belief system YOU have......if any..............if Bush had done it I would expect YOU to be bringing it up RIGHT now if HE died..............
Keep talking, your complete disrespect is just proving my point further. My past comments about Christianity Today and Hustler were a joke, and I never defended drinking and driving. Perhaps you need to read those post again. If it still isn't clear enough, I'd be happy to explain it to you again in 3rd Grade level English if it helps you out.
Ted Kennedy pleaded guilty in court and faced the music related to the unfortunate automobile accident in question, that you guys are now making sound like premeditated murder and trying to make the only defining moment in the man's entire life. If Jesus had asked you, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," you guys would have all beaned him between the eyes.
You'd apparently like everyone to forget the fact that Ted Kennedy spent the next four decades improving the standard of living for millions of Americans, especially for disabled Americans like the apparently completely ungrateful Mminnoe. Ted Kennedy fought for and improved civil right legislation for minorities and women, he improved health care for millions, he supported the Meals on Wheels and Children Nutrition programs, improved education for handicapped children, created low-income energy assistance programs, sponsored the job training partnership act, played a key role in slowing down the nuclear arms race, led the effort to impose economic sactions against South Africa over President Reagan's veto, created the Defense Department's child care system, passed laws ensuring disabled people can't be discriminated against during a job search, strengthend early childhood education programs, helped pass the Family and Medical Leave act, and was a key player in countless other intitiatives. But none of that "earns the respect" of someone like KC Teaparty.
No, you guys would rather compare his death to Michael Jackson's - a child molester who pissed away millions of dollars on frivolous garbage like the Neverland Ranch, pet monkeys, constant plastic surgery, and the Elephant Man's bones. It's not even a close comparison here.
Ted Kennedy didn't argue for abstinence education while his teenaged daughter was getting knocked up, and then whine when the press pointed it out as an example of her own hypocrisy. And by the way, the record shows that I never defended David Letterman's joke. I just pointed out that defining Letterman as "the Media" is ridiculous.
As for any insinuation that I'd be out there disrespecting a Republican who died, create all the strawmen you want, because my record speaks for itself. When Nixon and Reagan died, I wasn't out there pissing on their graves. l showed respect for the men, despite the fact that I disagreed with many of their actions. But you guys go ahead and justify your actions however you want if it makes you feel better.
PistolPete?.....oh you were making a joke.........how would WE know that?.. ha ha.......it was a classy joke too.......since when do YOU make jokes?.........you were being a smart @ss and we obliged your being "funny" by keeping "the joke" going......we were "just joking" too Petey Boy............what?.......did you lose your sense of humor there?..........you defended drunk driving not once but TWICE............any 3rd grader can see that by reading your posts.......you're a sympathizer to drinking and driving.......with a double standard about "what public figure" can be reviewed by people"other than yourself".......who you continually to remind us...... are "superior to everybody else' in your intelligence............ROFL................you put the stuff out there about your reading material...not us........and what?......now WE can't talk about it?............that's laughable........you insult anybody you wish and call everybody ingnorant and stupid that doesn't see health care reform as YOU do............. ha ha ha...........I never said Kennedy didn't have postive qualities.......are you the "moderator" for WHO we can discuss the "good or bad" things of?............erhh?.......people you like we have to "filter"our commentary......people you DON'T like we can say what we want?..........what happened to "free speech".........it makes us "unclassy" to say some truth about somebody ParanoidPete likes?................that's laughable too..............better call ALL the news channels and "go off" on them.................because Pete is "smarter than the rest of the world"........you're a legend in your own mind..........but we love you Pete..............sorry you couldn't take a joke........about your mags.........that was a pretty classy joke of yours though.........pretty funny too......"Hustler" and "Christianity Today"...............you and Jimmy Swaggart.............I don't understand why you're all neggy about our little humor at your expense.......can't you take it?......you can "dish it out but you can;t take it?"..........at least you're not a member of the "crybaby club".........saying that we're running you off for mean words..........I respect you for that..........this blog is OBVIOUSLY divided into TWO camps.......I'm OK with whatever abuse anybody wants to dish out to me.......we're judged on here by "what we say".............so suck it up and stand behind your words..........but for those of you out there ?......don't take my word for it........read PensivePete's bog header about "Pants Off /Dance Off" http://blogs.examiner.net/blogs/pensivepete/pants-dance be sure to go to the link too.....where PistolPete made excuses for Trooper Wooten drinking in his patrol car.......it's a hoot.....
Of course my explaination of drunk driving law and the limitations of the evidence related to the Heacock case automatically equates to me defending drunk driving in the mind of person who can't figure out the sarcasm associated with jokingly saying the only magazines I subscribe to are Hustler and Christianity Today.
I don't know what's funnier, you actually believing that those are the only magazines in my home, or your justification of harping on that post as an "example" of me supporting censorship when I pointed it out as the joke it truly was. Heaven forbid I'm ever not at a high level of seriousness, because I might confuse someone like Eldogg.
Also, the Trooper Wooten reference is more BS, considering the whole point of that debate was Palin's conflict of interest. So I also encourage people to dig up that blog, since it proves I've never once supported drunk driving.
Despite Eldoggs baseless attempt at revisionist history, I've also never once told anyone not to blog whatever they want, or self proclaimed myself as a moderator. I have pointed out the baseless, ridiculous comments, and the classless nature of some of the posts, including some in this blog. I never once impinged on anyone's...free speech...
I've also never once said I was, "Smarter than the rest of the world." That comes from some of the same fantasyland as Sarah Palin's death panels.
By the way, I still think the "Pants off Dance off" blog was great and I won't apologize for it to a guy who can't figure out the concepts of irony and sarcasm, and who would rather call names and try to bully people than debate an actual issue man to man.
........that's it?.......that's all you got?..........the irony here is that I did understand irony AND sarcasm.....as evidenced by my posts after your "little joke" .........thanks for making my point for me.........if I didn't then I wouldn't have continued your little joke......I guess your sense of humor went out the window as soon as YOUR joke was over.......the way i look at it we had a good laugh at your words..........so the joke's on you Petey.........I've forgot more about sarcasm and irony than you'll EVER know...........ROFL............but the difference between you and I is......I don't constantly elude to how much smarter I am than evrybody else..........shalom........
Your sarcasm is about as understandable as the majority of your posts, "Doggy."
PistolaPete?.........ROFL........I actually like you as a blogger.......you add spice and intelligence to the blog......iF misguided like Uncle Ted........but if you're having a hard time understanding MY posts then maybe you should talk to the other bloggers.......cuz they understand my blogs........OR......as you say..."I could put that into 3rd grade English for ya.......kinda like a "Davey & Goliath" type format..........if you didn't understand my post the other day then why did you post on it with your FABULOUSLY funny answer about YOUR reading material?....... ha ha ha...........I liked it.......I ran with YOUR joke and you got your feelings hurt?..............and btw.......I explained that my wording was bad and I NEVER considered Letterman as "media"......anybody who reads my post from that link will see that........but who cares?..............this is all much ado about "nothing"..........I just picked out some of your material to "showcase" your words.....as I'm sure YOU will be lying in wait for me.........ROFL.........I WELCOME that........I say "BRING ALL YOU GOT"..............WITHOUT BLOGGERS LIKE YOU THIS SITE WOULD BE WAY MORE BORING.......WE NEED EACH OTHER............LIKE THE ROAD RUNNER AND WILEY COYOTE..............you can call me "Doggy" if you want........that's cool.........blogs around the country are WAAAAAAAAAAY more rude than we are.........like YOU say PistolaPete........and I quote.."this AIN'T a knife fight"............everybody can't like everybody else.................MOX NIX.................
"This AIN'T a knife fight".....
No, it's either Pistolas at 20 paces... or a Michael Vick eldoggg fight!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaDxcVPxB3g
Pete draws out the alpha eldoggg with mellon sized neuticle implants!!! This ain't your grandma's neutered lapdog
Eldoggg, Please be kind to PensivePete. Please, with a cherry on top.
........OK Light My Fire.......consider it done........although I fail to see how I've been unkind......I merely echoed and highlighted HIS OWN WORDS........but I'm done with it.........just for you.......since you were SO polite .....and had regard for your friend.........I respect that.........but i think you may have a "posse " to deal with..........ROFL..........he's made SO many friends here with HIS kind words......... ah ha ha ha
Boys, you be good. We do not know what santa might bring this year.
Probably the most ironic part of this whole string is that I'm sick of the constant coverage of Kennedy's death as well. Had the arguement been outlined differently, I would have been supportive.
.......I'm ALWAYS reminded of the Don Henley song...........that he wrote after the press skewered HIM for a teenage girl that he "KNEW" that some things happened with............and his song had a line .......about the press...and THEIR enthusiasm for the macabre.........talking about how the 6:00 news has the "hook" about a car accident"...........the line goes "is the HEAD dead yet?".............and I always think about "grab your popcorn and your easy chair'............so you can see the grief coming up that ONLY WE have on "Channel X"..............I know when a long time reporter that I REALLY like here in KC had her son accidentally shot ?..........there was a glaring lack of coverage.....as there SHOULD have been .,.......out of respect for the family.............and so it is............I was appallled at a WEEKS worth of coverage about JFK Jr.s plane crash........where they KEPT playing coverage of planes over the ocean.......when WE KNEW...............what the outcome was.......and worse yet is the "Nancy Grace" crap with "breaking news" about Caylee Anthony for a YEAR.............but I guess it's just business..............but I don't watch the crap............so you know what?............I think we all agree on something............I ALREADY agreed with my current nemesis ......(PistolPete) that all the "talking heads" ........ARE NOT REAL NEWS ANCHORS.........Walter MUST have been appalled at today's news people............they ALL pretty much make me sick except for "Morning Joe"...............now I can't stomach the BBC like PistolaPete.............but getting unbiased REAL news has become a "bit of a challenge".............if anybody didn't understand this post then let me know.............I'll rewrite it again..............love , eldoggg...........
That was my point from the get go.........
OK U told me he's dead, now leave me alone, if I want to watch all this crap I'll find it, how about some news?
How many of our boys died in Afgan or Iraq the last two days????
I have been fortunate in that I have been too busy over the past few days to turn on the TV and be exposed to the coverage.
I was somewhat aware of the Chappaquiddick incident. However, yesterday, when I had time, I googled on it and read up on it some more.
Very suspicious, to say the least. However, 40 years have passed. During that time, was Ted REALLY all that influential, I have to wonder? Over the years, it seemed like a lot of people in the public and in the media have expressed the attitude that... well... he's kinda like the "black sheep" of the three brothers... and NOT because of Chappaquiddick (although that incident may be a demonstration of WHY he previously had been considered the "black sheep"). And really, "black sheep" is not the phrase I'm looking for. Kinda like a "wanna be". Like they never felt he had the talent or moral strength that either Robert or John had. I guess that's the impression that I got of him growing up. Because, my mind has come to associate him with... being "second rate"... or "third string". And because of that, I've never taken him very seriously or paid him much attention.
In the end, he was just one Senator of many. I'm sure many would say he had more political influence or clout. Well, yeah.... in Washington D.C. or Boston, maybe. But everywhere else ??
