A Little Cartooning Help From My Friends.....
Submitted by Joe Liccar on May 28, 2009 - 6:31pm
I am working on an Ed/Op cartoon that involves the Great Norman Rockwell. I am pretty sure I've got it but to help me out, I ask the Blogging Community:
When you think of Norman Rockwell which painting pops into your head first?
A miilion thanks for your response.

........wow......hard to pick from all the great ones.......I DO love the "Fleeing Hobo".......with the plate of food.......dog attached to his rear....."hightailing it".......ROFL.....with the economy and all....might be me in the future.........reminds me of "after the depression"......when a boy saw a rabbit.........and his dad told him that "things are getting better"......the boy replied "why's that dad?"........the father replied....." well......there's a rabbit......and NOBODY'S chasing him".......

One that poped to mind first was the one Coppertone used withthe little kid and the dog, pullin down her swim suit... it was every where for years...
To this day the smell of coppertone reminds me of summers as a life guard at CoolCrest when they had the big pool set up... "GLory Days"
The first one I think of is the one at the Thanksgiving Table. The man with the great gift of painting never had the great gift of having a family. I Love this one because it teaches children who grow up with nothing can still grow up and be a "Great Someone" with grace. Thanks for this blog because I Love this story.
There are so many, but the very first image was of the young boy sitting on a soda bar stool next to a large policeman.
