Happy New Year to everyone!

What is your New Year's resolution? Come on don't be shy!

What is wrong with this nation when a school district doesn't want to help children because they are too lazy or too under-educated to help them? Why are parent's shut down by districts when all they are trying to do is seek the help their for the children that need it so badly? The Federal government is so proud of their No Child Left Behind Act, but why be proud of something that leaves behind so many children?

How many of you know that our rates were going up starting January 1, 2009?

They are suppose to go up 9% on Jan. 1, 2009 and then they are suppose to go up 5% every year after that until 2012. What are you feelings about this?

Hey a shout out to all of you homeowners and renters out there, it is time for you to help take back our city.....

Last night I attended a meeting with several concerned people including Council Board Members Lucy Young and Will Swoffer, IPD officer Rob Romey, Asst. Super of F.O. Jeff White and others. We have a very serious problem going on here in Independence and it does concern every single citizen in this city.

NCLBA- No Child Left Behind Act

I have a question for anyone out there that remembers anything about skateboarding.

Where in the world are the best skateboarding shops?

When I was growing up you could go and buy real skateboards, now they are made out of plywood. My daughter is a skateboarder and she wants her own skateboard, but the shop I went to is no longer around so please inform me where I can go now. I want to get this for her for christmas and time is running out so help! She already has everything else including the shoes, clothes and hairstyle all she needs is the board.

What did you think about it? I found it funny actually, but now you!

What do you think of FEMA giving another grant to Independence to bury power lines? This makes the fifth grant and totalling $6 million just since 2003, but yet Independence has only been able to bury 5,800 people power lines.

The problem with Independence right now is the misuse of appropriate funds!

I find it funny that we can come up with $70 million for a b.s. arena, but we cannot come up with $300k or so for our busses. Most of the city officials claim they are listening to the citizens of Independence, but if they were they would know we don't want this stupid arena.

Let's talk about Autism! Trying to get away from the political crapola, it is called a change of subject. LOL

How many people in the Jackson County area or anyone else that isn't in Jackson County are aware of what autism really is? How it affects people and their families and caregivers? There has been a lot of press about it, but how many of you really understand it and the full definition of what it is? I know MMinnoe you do, LOL.... So please feel free to put in your input, but be careful how you state things because there are parents that know what I am talking about with this!
