Timberwind Apts. Round 2

 This is round 2 with Timber Wind Apartments. My friends who live at 15th Street South and Scott back up to this Apartment Complex. They both have lived in their homes for many years. They pay their taxes and both keep beautiful yards both front and back. They both have been victims of illegal dumping for years. Last time I blogged on this they took care of it for my one friend. Now trash is back in her yard again and her neighbor has asked me to please blog again. Once again I did meet with the manager. Once again I offered to help clean it up with him. That was last week. Not one bag of trash has been moved. Our three homes hope we can blog this problem away. If not we Love the media! We don't live in the ghetto and we are not going to let this Apartment Complex turn us into one. This man has made calls to city officials about this. That is why he has turned to me and the blogs. We need light on this problem and the blogs are a great light.

 Great news all the trash is gone. All of it has been cleaned up and they have even put round up down to take care of the weeds under the trash. Thank You David from Timberwind Apartments!!! The IPL did a great job cleaning out regrowth of unwanted trees. Then today the apartment did the rest. The Blogs did it! Thanks to Mminnoe teaching me how to use them.   xox

Independence please for the sake of our community please Google up Timberwind Apartments. Please read the blogs people have done on this apartment complex. Then you will see in black and white why we need help. After reading these blogs I see why I have felt like I live and work in a war zone. As I have said before kids are falling through the cracks. They too are on their own. One day I seen kids leaving the school bus to go in their homes at Timberwind Apartments. Not one of then had a smile on her face. Not one of them was in a hurry to get off the bus or run to their home in the apartments. Now I understand why. This is SICK!!! No one should have to live like this! Open up your eyes city officials and I will pray to God you open up your hearts to not just my friends who live out side this war zone but the families and children who live inside this Hell Hole. May God Help Them All!!!

I used to live there years ago, back when it was called.... ummm.... what was it?   "Kingsboro Village Apartments"?     My wife and I met there.   We each had an apartment a few buildings apart.   This was from about 1992-1996.   The insides of a lot of the apartments were remodelled during that time.  Cohen-Esry came in and put some money into the place.  They had a FANTASTIC groundskeeper and the office staff was really good.   But about 1995 or so, things started to slip.  The old staff left.  
 
I have some fond memories of smoking cigars and swimming all day.   (That was for the two years that I taught but actually did NOT teach summer school.)   I had a lot of fun throwing-around the neighborhood kids in that swimming pool. (They loved that sort of thing.)
 
I wonder if old "Inge" still lives there?   Somebody tried to set me up with her daughter, who lived there as well, once.  <yikes!  She was....ummmm.... trying to be kind here..... NOT my type!>

i drive thru timberwinds occasionally on my way from Q.T....the place is just nasty...the property is poorly kept up....boarded up windows...but i suppose as long as those section 8 (im assuming here) keep rolling in every month the owners turn a blind eye....can you say bulldozer??....

Tfedo69 you are right it's bad. What is sad is the stories people tell you that live in that place. I am happy to report that Independence Power and Light took care of all the trees and bursh that was in my friends back yard at Scott and 15th Street that is city property. Now we have to push hard to get all the trash bags of garbage, beer cans and debris removed out of three of my friends back yards. I have to ask why should we have to beg to get people to do the right thing? The IPL took care of it as soon as they found out about it and seen it. I need to find the name of the men who did this to Thank them. For the record my friends have tried to get help from Marcie Gragg District 1 and also the Health Department. I stopped by and talked to Jim Schultz our At Large Councilmen months ago about this problem. I even offered to drive him over to see it. My friends need help. Looks like the media will have to be the heros here. They have no place to turn. Thanks for your blog!   xox

Elisa, now that the brush is cleared away and the trash can be clearly seen, get out your camera and take some photos. Take photos of the dumpy apts as well. Sign up to talk at the next city council meeting. Bring 8x10's of your photos to hold up & show the camera & the council while you're talking. Ask the @-holes sitting up there if they'd enjoy having this crap next to THEIR house?????  Would they bother to act if it was next to the RLDS parking lot???? Be sure you mention to all concerned that you've asked for help from Gragg & Schultz & the health dept and gotten NOWHERE.

Hey Elisa, I just tried looking up the landlord business license for that place.... it seems to have expired back in 2007..... owners name listed as Kingsboro LLC..... check it out.

 TeaPartyKC I got a call from a person who did not want me to ask any questions but they wanted us to know that the owners are Kingsboro Nouveau. Some big Lawyer Doug Patterson at 1025 Windchester KC MO is over it all. The true owners don't even live in Mo. I can't find him at that address. Any ideas?   xox

Is that Curry Investment Co on Kendallwood Pkwy in Gladstone, MO???? If not, I can't find any record of the Charles F Curry Real Estate Co having any kind of landlord business license. You need to carefully check this out, maybe you can get the slumlord shut down or at least in deep doo-doo over something like a business license.

I live in the Timberwind apts. and as of Oct 19 of this year they were bought by PMCF LLC, the new manager is named Jill. 
My wife and i have lived in the apt since March of 09. since being here our roof has leak 7 plus time. are reg has gone out 3 times and mold is growing in the ceilling where one of the leaks happened. we have two small kids ( age 2 and 6 months) when our roof leaked this last time ( about 2 weeks ago) the cut a hole in our ceiling and have yet to pach it. this is where the mold is growing now.
we have filed a complain with the city codes and now just want to move. we both have seen several, what looked to us to be, drug deals taking place in differant areas of the apt complex.
we are at the end of our rope and dont even know what to to........ any ideas.

Mminnoe I think the city owns the strip all the trash is being dumped on. Why should I have to go look up who owns the apartments? If our city officials did their jobs I would not have to be blogging about this to get my friends help. This is Nuts I wish you could see it. You would be blogging up a storm. Only because you care. If only we could make people care. I just don't get it! What is in it for anyone to leave this trash pile up? What did you think of that little halloween costume? Did it fit her?   xox

But U know Robert said last night he just wants all of us to be fair, so Robert were being fair, how about givin us a hand on gettin this trash cleaned up like "TODAY" send a truck and a couple of guys out there ????
If it belongs to CURRY send em a Bill if its the City's clean it up????? U can do it Robert?

Elisa, I know your pain on this issue. When I was living in Northeast KC, I had a beautiful, manicured yard, as did all my neighbors. Then the lady living next door to me passed away and her house was sold to a slumlord living in KCK. The little house turned into a dumping ground, the yard went to pot, the neighbors (when he could find someone desperate enough to rent it) were abominable. Complaining got us nowhere. Then I read about someone, somewhere, who was having pretty good success at putting a huge sign in front of problem properties such as this that proclaimed "SHAME OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD... XXX IS A SLUMLORD". I did it, and it worked at least somewhat..... at least the yard started getting mowed and trash fairly regularrly picked up. Oh yeah, and I'd call the media and see if you can get them to come out, and maybe post something on Craigslist to let folks know they can drive by to see the slob who's ruining your neighborhood.

TeaPartyKC That's what I Love about you. What ever it takes you are willing to do. Thanks for your blog and more great ideas. I have not forgot about your request for me to put on the blogs what I have done and what I stand for. I need to take the time and dig out an old paper I did in the past and add to it. What is funny is one of my cousins told me if you just type in my first name and Independence you come up with all kinds of stuff about me. My family Loves it. Also if you put my name in The Examiner Search you will see any story they have done with me. That is why I Love The Examiner they tell both sides. They are a very fair paper and we are Lucky to have them along with our blogs!   xox
