Take Back Our City!
What an honor it was for some 35 to 40 neighborhood residents and business owners to show up at The Trails West Library last night for our Crime Task Force meeting to learn more about COMBAT. Mike Sanders our County Executive was his charming self with Stacey Daniels-Young the COMBAT Director. They make a great team. They both have leadership skills that actually empowers people to have reason to believe in hope. Hope that can change minds and hearts. They both know how to create an atmosphere of not just hope but also that we are all in this together to find solutions for Jackson County that will work . We gave away a handful of the orange and black yard signs. Some of our people told me they would Love to put a sign in their yard but they had to many fears of what may happen if they did put a sign out. Some of the people came to the meeting to hear about a possible new program for Hill Park. They became very disappointed we did not have anyone to talk about the program. All I had was fliers. One lady was so upset about the crime around Hill Park she told me after the meeting she wanted to move. It was then that I walked her over to Mike Sanders and our Economic Development Coordinator Robbie Makine. This lady also runs a business out of her home. As I listened to her talk her story was like so many stories I have been told. All of us should want to take back our city. Many have lost hope and they don't have the courage or strength to even try. It's my hope that Mike Sanders and Stacey-Young's leadership can change that. May we see a sea of orange and black signs all around Jackson Co. I pray all of us can all instill hope and push away crime. xox

......most of the REAL success stories about neighborhoods running drug dealers out?.......taking their neighborhood back..........are about the citizens getting tired and doing what the police can't......because they LIVE there.......they're there ALL the time......watching.......waiting.........with their signs in front of drug houses......there is strength in numbers.........drug dealers HATE publicity and light......they prefer darkenss......and prey on fear..........it is sad that people are fearful of what might happen to THEIR property if they put an "orange & black" sign in their yard..........I long for a day when the "criminals" are fearful of what might happen if they do something to a property with a sign..............I had a drug dealer who lived across from me in a nice neighborhood...........I told this story already........the local authorities failed to act for some reason........the neighbors were baffled...............but where there is a will?..........there is a way..............

Eldoggg I Love your blog! It would be nice if the criminals would fear what might happen if they do something to our property but they don't have to around here. I have been feeling like I am beating my head on brick walls to try and find answers. One week I was so tired of the crime games that go on around here that I called the AG's office. I talked to a very nice man. He sent me out a Special Agent with The Federal Bureau Of Investigation and a Task Force Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You are right where there is a will there is a way. No one likes publicity and light but I do!!! xox
Elisa ......concerning my story of the drug dealer across the street......in (Tigerville).... ha ha...........after several attempts with local authorities?.........and after Bozo was teasing his starving dogs one day?........I was BOILING......I briefly considered killing him myself.......ROFL.......then I did JUST what YOU did Elisa......I got in the phone book......those blue pages with govt offices.....and I broke out a martini and started calling.........once I got connected with Washington D.C and they seemed "kinda peeved"......... ha ha ha..........I told my dilemna to a few authorities.......I wasn't there the next day because I was at work......but my brand new neighbor told me there were guys with ATF jackets on.......I didn't think they did that sort of thing...........I don't recall telling them there were firearms....... ha ha ha...............it took them ONE day to show up........dogs.......shotguns.........it was a scene man......I thought some agency would be interested in seizing four cars.....there were no liens..........so the moral of the story?........if at first you don't succeed?.........call a federal agency............if you DO report a DRUG HOUSE?............ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THEY ASK YOU WITH EXCITEMENT IN THEIR VOICE IS ....................."is it a meth lab?".............those are a HIGH priority......and I think they may be easier to obtain a warrent for..........just a guess................
eldoggg
Correct answer is Yes its a Meth Lab and I saw some Macine Guns?????
...ROFL........well , I didn't want to SAY that........... ha ha ha...........

I think the drug dealers are alot like abusive spouses.... they use the abuse as a form of control, but if someone actually challenges them they are weaklings and will slink away, looking for easier prey.... you've gotta be careful of course when challenging these @ssholes, be firm and have a plan... if you stand your ground you can run them off... but you have to be brave and show no fear (even if in reality you're shaking in your boots)....
Complacency is the enemy. Be educated. Be aware. Be involved.
TeaParty KC you are right. The greatest plan one needs is to carry protection and be aware at all times. Fear is the greatest enemy. xox
