CHIEF TOM DAILEY OUR BUSINESS'S ALONG WITH YOUR MEN ARE UNDER SIEGED
This is not pick on Tom Dailey Day. This is God Please Help Us and give our Police Chief Tom Dailey the wisdom to know how to help. I made part of my rounds yesterday and today only to find out one of us was rodded at gun point two times in the same day. That was the top story. I have done my homework. I know we are Under Sieged. I don't have all the answers or solutions but this. I know the City of Independence better be addressing this soon or we will be seeing a lot of Going Out Of Business Sales. All of us have a job to do and we have precious little to do it with. This problem falls on all of our shoulders. I am begging for your mercy for your men and our people. My friend don't cry but after yesterday we can't say that anymore. I live and work in a war zone. With gun fire and mayham. I am tired all the way down to my soul. This will be my last blog for a time. I only pray you understand what I am blogging you. This comes in PEACE TO YOU. I respect your men and women. All of us need help if it takes national attention I will help find it. This comes with Great Respect to You for our people because we are Under Sieged. Good bye for now to you and the Bloggers. xox

I think it's time for those obviously very affected by crime, (two hold ups in one day?) to start speaking out for themselves. They are allowing you to do the work, and without them being as furious as they should be, it's hard to get to the root and the cause.
These people who are being victimized need to start making noise, rather than making it all seem like heresay, by counting on you. I know if I were a victim, I'd be calling the news myself, why are they not calling media outlets? The media LOVES this type of story.
FEAR is what stops them. Fear of making things worse. Fear of loosing more sales that = more $$$. They truly don't know what way to turn. I know that I look like a Force Of One out here but my friends trust me and some how some way we have to find help. Most people want to be silent victims. I choose not to because I have no "Pride" I have only one goal find us help!!! I spent the evening with friends with like minds at KKFI Radio Station. We are working on a new show called "JAWS OF JUSTICE" It is the intention of our show to investigate the American Justice System in all its facets. To put a human face on all those caught in its grasp and all those that are a part of the machinery. We want to dispel the misconceptions created in our media and political system about crime, the law, criminals, enforcement, courts, prisons, and afforts to rehabilitate. It is our intention to search out alternatives to present practices that are restorative to victims and offenders. In short we want to inform our society of the realities of the existing system and in doing so create a dialogue that is not just about the law but how to make the system about justice. Thank You for your blog. xox
I understand what you are doing, and I'm with you on it. However, your friends must know by keeping silent they are part of the issue, you alone, can not make this change, if they DO NOT STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT they are part of the problem, a BIG part of the problem. That area sounds so very bad, and they have the RESPONSIBILTY to report it, frankly they sit and allow a war zone, I wouldn't shop there. If I knew they were on it, and speaking out and drawing attention, I would feel more safe.
I think it's time for that area to come together and hire private security if the police are not coming to do their jobs.
I wish you'd tell us the area, I don't want me or my kids accidently in that area of town as bad as it seems to be.
To cry out, then refuse details, you are not allowing the rest of us to be knowledgable and protect our safety by avoiding this heavy gun fire and gang activity. I resent that very much. I would not shop with a store that was scared to protect itself and it's customers anyway. Yikes. If you have something important to you stand up for it people.
Your very public weakness and lack of care is part of the problem!
Great blog one I will try with all of my heart to explain. Girl we are all part of the problem. A Very Big part of the problem. First of all I am an advocate for our people. I don't expect crime victim to be an advocate. I don't think it should be their responsibilty to save or help anybody. If you think any Rape Vicitim owes us anything well I don't. My friends are being Raped out of all their Hopes & Dreams. The have their little business in a very poor side of town. Sometimes we bring in very little. Many of us are in survival mode. I have had four dear friends walk away from their business. Each time I cried for them. One just had a Auction not long ago so that makes five. It's taking all we have to just stand and survive. We have no $$$ for private security. I have not said the police are not doing their jobs. We don't have enough. They are in black out 75% of the time. I am sorry you resent me protecting our CRIME VICITIMS but I would do the same for you out of respect. I BELIEVE IN PROTECTING THE WEAK. I have no public weakness or lack in caring for my friends because thats what friends do. They will go out their and do what ever it takes to find help for you. You can pull up your own crime stats. Public Safety is your job as a mother. Thanks for your blog.
Thank you, minnesotagirl. We have all been trying to say that, but for some reason you have put better than the rest of us. My point that I have been trying to make is that some of us aren't afraid to help you ELISA, but we are just as frustrated as you are with the cops. I realize we are short on cops, but what irritates me is that they pick and choose what calls to take and not care about the safety end of it for the citizens. You are trying to fight a fight with a few people and most of us are just tired of not being listened to by the mayor, manager and IPD. Please don't take offense, there is no disrespect meant. But she is right ELISA they need to help themselves too, it cannot always be just us. I would love for this city to get its act together and help out, but I'm just afraid we are dreaming a dream and nothing more.
Prime example of this is when my ex-husband got into an argument with a gentlemen and my ex-sister-in-law tried to get IPD to show up at her house, they didn't do anything until my ex was badly hurt and my daughters. Then, they showed up and then they sent my ex to the prosecutor to be prosecuted for standing up for his own children. I refused to allow that to happen and made the charges be dropped by the judge. It took my girls to be hurt by this gentlemen before they would help my ex and he get prosecuted what is wrong with that picture.
Dragonlady I feel like I am in a bad dream. I have to say I am more frustrated with the people that I never see at any of The Council Meetings. No disrespect only in hopes to unclog communication problems between the City and the people who pay them to do at least a fair job. xox

I know U are tryin to help People of Indep.
To get the word out and let us know what is going on.
BUT to talk in some code and mention things in half statements does NO good?
Why not just say what U are talking about in plain English?
OK who got robbed twice yesterday?
What did the signs say that were tacked onto the Remial signs?
By beating around the bush about WHO, WHAT & WHERE…
Just makes U look less reliable….
I said that I was taking a break from all of you but here are my answers. Number One 7-11 got hit two times with guns on 23rd Street on Sunday. The other business who got hit don't want to go public with his robbery. The Chief and his men know all about it. If your girl friend Lucy Young wants to know more about it tell her to talk to them. I respect my friends wishes he has already been through hell and it's none of your business who he is. Number Two I never said that any signs were tacked to the Reimal's sign. I said someone tore the sign down. The single biggest problem with COMMUNICATION is the ILLUSION that it has taken place. Tell your friend Lucy I would be happy to talk to her if she has any questions. My life heart and door are always open. Thanks for your blog!!! xox
I will have to agree with MMinnoe on this, because I never heard anything about a robbery let alone the same person in one day. I never saw the signs you are talking about so I believe you have officially lost us or at least MMinnoe and I. Where did all of this take place at? I drive Indep from Noland Road and straight east so I have no clue where you are talking.
