HASAN NEEDED LITTLE CONVINCING FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST ARMY COMRADES?
The only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal, - Radical Imam Anwar al-Aulaqi
(Newser) – Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan revealed his growing disapproval of the US military in email correspondence with a radical imam who once counseled 9/11 terrorists, the cleric has revealed. “I speak with you about issues that I never speak with anyone else," the imam said Hasan wrote in emails that began last December. Anwar al-Aulaqi said he believed Hasan “trusted” him because he helped Hasan become a devout Muslim through his lectures at a Virginia mosque.
While corresponding with Hasan, Aulaqi, who now lives in Yemen, continued to encourage violence against American soldiers on his website. But Hasan needed little convincing, the cleric communicated to the Washington Post. He presented Aulaqi with arguments on how the American interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq violated Sharia law. Aulaqi is proud of his acolyte. "The only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal,” he wrote in a recent blog post.

I understand there is a continuing investigation to research the possibility that these seemingly unrelated attempts are part of a cooordinated attack , by a central cell operating here in the United States of America .
I thank you for your continued efforts to keep the community informed and updated on these matters of national security .
On a related note , I must also say what a travesty I believe it to be , to be involved in trying to resolve a thirty -five year old civil conflict in Afghanistan.
Increasing the troop levels there will only serve to increase the insurgency .
My sympathies are with those men and women in conflict in Afghanistan .
It is my understanding that morale there is at an all time low .

......FEDS SEIZE FOUR U.S MOSQUES AND A FIFTH AVENUE SKYSCRAPER OWNED BY A NON PROFIT MUSLIM ORGANIZATION ..................
.....one of the biggest counter terrorism seizures in U.S history..................yeahhhhhhhhhh babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....................how bout a big round of applause for Islam?.................
( AP) – Federal prosecutors took steps today to seize four US mosques and a Fifth Avenue skyscraper owned by a nonprofit Muslim organization long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government. In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in US history, prosecutors filed a civil complaint in federal court seeking the forfeiture of more than $500 million in assets of the Alavi Foundation and an alleged front company.
The assets include Islamic centers in New York City, Maryland, California, and Houston, more than 100 acres of land in Virginia, and a 36-story office tower in New York. Prosecutors said the Alavi Foundation, through a front company known as Assa Corp., illegally funneled millions in rental income back to Iran's state-owned Bank Melli. Bank Melli has been accused by a US Treasury official of providing support for Iran's nuclear program, and it is illegal in the United States to do business with the bank.

...........Hasan's actions replicated 9 / 11 suicide terrorists.............before the "final act"..............sounds premeditated to me............a nice package..............a planned event.............
( Newser) – Shooter Nidal Hasan repeatedly visited a local strip joint in the days leading up to the Fort Hood rampage, spending six hours at one stretch watching pole dancers, according to investigators. Insiders believe the behavior may have been one more indication that Hasan was about to snap. The 9/11 hijackers indulged in last-minute Western decadence at a Vegas strip bar before their attacks, notes the Telegraph.
"He was the kind of guy you could sit and talk with. He told me he was a doctor at Fort Hood and he was being deployed," said a woman who performed a lap dance for Hasan, who treated her with "respect." He asked women if they were married or had children, and was "more mature, shy and reserved" than the typical rowdy young soldiers who frequent the establishment, she noted. The strip club is just yards away from Guns Galore, where Hasan purchased the gun used in the Fort Hood rampage.

(Newser) – Nidal Hasan warned that "adverse events" could occur if Muslims weren't allowed to leave the US military in a bizarre presentation he gave to Army physicians in 2007 at the end of his residency at Walter Reed Medical Center. The psychiatrist lectured senior doctors on Islam, the Koran, and suicide bombings in the PowerPoint presentation, according to a copy obtained by the Washington Post. "We love death more then you love life!," he wrote on one slide.
"Fighting to establish an Islamic State to please God, even by force, is condoned by the Islam," Hasan wrote under "Conclusions." He recommended that Muslims in the military be given the option of becoming conscientious objectors. The presentation left the doctors looking "really upset," according to a staff member, although it is unclear whether any of them reported Hasan's lecture to authorities.

Najibullah Zazi is due back in court Friday, a day after a federal grand jury in New York unsealed an indictment against the 24-year-old airport shuttle driver, providing a frightening chronology of a possible terrorist plot against targets in the United States.
From Morning Edition
September 25, 2009
If the government's case is to be believed, Zazi, a legal immigrant from Afghanistan, attended a Qaeda training camp in Pakistan, received training in explosives, brought a recipe for a homemade bomb back to the U.S., and started buying and preparing the chemicals he needed to build it. The government is charging him with conspiring to use "weapons of mass destruction" against the U.S. By weapons of mass destruction, they mean bombs.
While much is unknown about the plot — like who else might be involved, its intended targets and whether the explosives were actually mixed and are sitting somewhere — the very fact that a plan appeared to progress as far as this one appears to have done makes the case of Najibullah Zazi different from any other in the U.S. since that Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
That's because, as a general matter, terrorism plots in this country have been more aspirational than operational — motivated by malcontents, or ex-cons, or even testosterone. In many of the cases, the focus falls on FBI informants who, at times, appear to be goading action instead of simply tracking it.
"There have been so many of those kinds of cases you have the problem of a citizenry who think they have a country that keeps crying wolf," says Karen Greenberg, the executive director of New York University's Law and Security Center. "They are always saying they've dismantled this terrorism case or that terrorism case and then it turns out there is no there there. Now they have a case where they think there is some real danger."
They are always saying they've dismantled this terrorism case or that terrorism case and then it turns out there is no there there. Now they have a case where they think there is some real danger.
- Karen Greenberg, the executive director of New York University's Law and Security Center
In Thursday's court filing, prosecutors laid out details of the alleged plan as it unfolded. There were flights to Pakistan, training in al-Qaida camps, e-mailed bomb-making recipes, and chemical buying sprees at beauty supply shops in the Denver area. The combination alarmed authorities. They say Zazi had been planning the attack for more than a year. Zazi has yet to answer these latest charges, but he has said publicly he is not a terrorist.
"Training is one thing, improvised explosive devices is another particularly dangerous flag for American officials," says Greenberg. "The largest sentence ever given for terrorism trials was for being involved with an improvised explosive device."
That was a 2005 case involving a man named Gale Nettles. He plotted to blow up a federal courthouse with ammonium nitrate bombs and even bought the chemicals before he was arrested. His was found guilty and was sentenced to 160 years.
"So that gives you an idea of how seriously they take this kind of crime," Greenberg says.
If what the FBI says about Zazi is true, he would fall into that serious category. Investigators say he had the recipe for a bomb that he e-mailed to himself from Pakistan. They say they have surveillance tape from the beauty supply stores where he allegedly bought the ingredients he'd need to build the same kind of explosive used in the 2005 London train bombings.
Investigators say Zazi bought unusually large quantities of hydrogen peroxide and acetone products from beauty supply stores around Denver. And while that might sound like an odd place to buy bomb components, the fact of the matter is acetone is found in nail polish remover and concentrated peroxide is in a lot of hair products. Zazi allegedly bought a dozen bottles in August alone of a product called Ms. K Liquid 40 Volume. It is a hydrogen peroxide product.
The most troubling wrinkle revealed in the court papers was the real possibility that Zazi had co-conspirators. Law enforcement officials say they are tracking other men surveillance cameras caught buying chemicals with Zazi. So far only two arrests besides Zazi's have been announced. Zazi's father, Mohammed, was arrested for lying to federal authorities. He was released on bail in Colorado on Thursday. An imam from Queens, New York, Ahmad Afzali, was also arrested for lying to federal authorities. He also was released on bail Thursday.
The Justice Department revealed in its filing that the plot went beyond just buying chemicals. On Sept. 6, Zazi checked into a hotel in Aurora, Colo. The FBI tested his hotel room and found acetone residue in the vent above the stove. That's important because the bomb-making instructions Zazi was allegedly following called for heating up acetone and hydrogen peroxide to beef up their concentrations — the way one might boil down wine to get a reduction for a sauce.
He was also apparently trying to contact another individual to get advice on concentrations of the chemicals.
Zazi is scheduled to be back in court in Denver Friday. He is being held on charges of lying to federal authorities. Those charges are expected to be dropped so he can be flown to New York and face the more serious terrorism charges there.

.....ahh you gotta love this part......."His neighbors were stunned ,saying "he was just an AWESOME person".....
( Newser Summary) – A Jordanian citizen arrested in an elaborate FBI sting is to be arraigned today on charges of attempting to blow up a Dallas skyscraper. The court appearance comes a day after an Illinois man was charged with plotting to detonate a bomb near a Springfield courthouse, only to learn that his supposed al-Qaeda contact was an FBI agent. The cases are not related to each other nor to the terror arrests in Denver and New York, authorities say.
In Dallas, agents found Hosam Maher Husein Smadi on an extremist website espousing jihadist views, posed as al-Qaeda operatives, and provided him with a fake bomb. His neighbors were stunned. "He was just an awesome person,” one tells the Dallas Morning News. Michael Finton of Decatur, Ill., who also went by "Talib Islam," seems less benign. "I got to thinking, ‘Why does this person even choose to live in this country if he thinks we’re so evil?’" an acquaintance tells the Springfield Journal-Register.
.....I realize people are tired of hearing about these thwarted terrorist attempts.........we have SO many that we have become calloused to them.......tired of hearing about them........it's almost a weekly deal......we need to be aware as a community and city .....keep our eyes open.....not paranoid.......just awake........just like the beauty supplies the other terrorist was able to buy without anybody noticing.....to make homeade explosives....sooner or later one of these guys might be successful........so you know I can't resist........here's another nice guy whose name sounds like phlegm........click on the "Boston Globe" link to find the whole article which contained the following excerpt about "JIHAD".........
"Desiring to take “some kind of action in furtherance of jihad,” Tarek Mehanna and his co-conspirators allegedly had multiple conversations about obtaining weapons and randomly shooting people in malls, including discussions of the logistics of the mall attacks, assaulting from different entrances, and attacking emergency responders, acting US Attorney Michael Loucks said this morning".
(Newser) – Federal authorities arrested a 27-year-old man just outside of Boston today, saying he planned to attack a shopping mall with automatic weapons. The man, Tariq Mehanna, had been out on bail following an arrest last year for allegedly lying about the whereabouts of a man trained by al-Qaeda to fight the Somali government. He’s facing charges of conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.
Authorities say he conspired with two other men, identifying one as Ahmad Abousamra, and that his arrest will foil attacks inside and outside the US. The conspirators allegedly had multiple conversations about the logistics of shooting up the mall, including possible attacks on emergency responders.

NUCLEAR SCIENTIST ARRESTED BY THE FRENCH
for alledged ties to al-Qaeda
(Newser) – French authorities have arrested a researcher working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) on suspicion that he has been in contact with al-Qaeda. Police say they believe the 32-year-old and his brother contacted people linked to the terror group online, and they had been planning an attack in France. CERN says the man’s work “did not bring him into contact with anything that could be used for terrorism.”
The researcher, who is of Algerian descent, was an employee of LHC Beauty, an outside contractor using CERN’s Large Hadron Collider to study the differences between matter and antimatter through “beauty quarks.” Police say the brothers had expressed a desire online to carry out attacks, the BBC reports, but they don’t think they’d “got to the stage of carrying out material acts of preparation.”

( Newser) – The details emerging about Nidal Hasan, who authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a US Army base, paint a picture of a man torn by contradictory loyalties. Hasan was a lifelong Muslim, an imam at his mosque said, but not an extremist. He had served 8 years in the military, and told his parents that it was “his life”—but also fought hard to avoid deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan, even offering to repay his medical training.
Hasan once said that “Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor,” a former colleague tells the Washington Post, adding that Hasan would frequently argue with soldiers who supported the Iraq war. As a psychiatrist, Hasan had returning soldiers at Walter Reed and Fort Hood describe “on a daily basis the horrors they saw over there,” a cousin said. “He was mortified by the idea of having to deploy.”

...........this one really doesn't need an introduction........
( Newser) – The shooter in today's rampage at the Fort Hood Army base has been identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. He is described as an Army psychiatrist, about age 40, who was to be sent to Iraq on Nov. 28, reports ABC. Hasan was killed after opening fire at a soldier processing center, killing 11 others and wounding about 30. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison says Hasan was "upset" at the prospect of being deployed to Iraq, notes NBC. Two soldiers remain in custody as suspects, and their role, if any, is unclear.
Hasan came to the Texas base after 6 years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center—where, a source tells AP, he received a poor performance evaluation. Meanwhile, Josh Marshall writes that "The fact that the primary assailant has an Arabic name and is presumably, though we don't know this yet, of Muslim extraction if not a practicing Muslim, is going to be the focus of attention." But more surprising to Marshall, he adds on Talking Points Memo, is that he's not a young soldier but an Army major.

(AP) – Pakistani soldiers battling their way into a Taliban stronghold along the Afghan border have seized passports that may be linked to 9/11 suspects. One is a German document belonging to a man named Said Bahaji, believed to be a member of the Hamburg cell that conceived the attacks. The passport indicates he arrived in Karachi on Sept. 4, 2001.
Another, from Spain, bears the name of Raquel Burgos Garcia. She is reportedly married to Amer Azizi, an al-Qaeda member suspected in both the 9/11 attacks and the Madrid train bombings. The US has long charged that the South Waziristan region has sheltered 9/11 suspects, and Hillary Clinton today blasted Pakistan for not doing enough. Luqman Ameen Abdullah, 53, opened fire when agents raided a warehouse; six others were taken into custody.
Abdullah, also known as Christopher Thomas, was imam of a Sunni sect called “Ummah, a group of mostly African-American converts to Islam, which seeks to establish a separate Sharia-law governed state within the United States,” according to a press release. WICHITA, Kansas, June 1, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A clearer portrait has now emerged of the man who allegedly took it into his hands to play judge, jury, and executioner of George Tiller, the foremost provider of late-term abortions in the United States. The portrait reveals a mentally disturbed, long-time anarchist and convicted felon, who appears to have succumbed to the influence of an anti-abortion domestic terrorist group and believed that he had to commit murder in order to stave off the wrath of God.
Just three hours after Tiller was gunned down in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church, where he had been ushering, law enforcement apprehended Scott P. Roeder, 51, of Merriam, Kansas, traveling the speed limit on the I-35 back to his home. He was officially charged with the murder today.
Tiller's murderer had shot the abortionist once and threatened two other men in the church, before departing the scene of the crime in a powder-blue 1993 Ford Taurus, which deputies checked out as belonging to Roeder. After Sherriff’s deputies intercepted Roeder, he surrendered to them without incident and was taken back to Wichita for questioning.
However in the aftermath of the murder and subsequent arrest, information has surfaced that shows Roeder to be a mentally unstable individual, who as early as the 1990s adopted quasi-biblical beliefs to compensate for his moral failings, and fell under the influence of two violent radical organizations, especially a fringe anti-abortion group far outside the sphere of the pro-life community. This group is the so-called Army of God, a group that advocates domestic terror, violence, and murder against abortion facilities and those who work there.

FORT HOOD GUMAN TIED TO MOSQUE OF 9 / 11 TERRORISTS
By PAMELA HESS, Associated Press Writer Pamela Hess, Associated Press Writer – Sun Nov 8, 6:35 pm ET
WASHINGTON – The alleged Fort Hood shooter apparently attended the same Virginia mosque as two Sept. 11 hijackers in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there.
Whether the Fort Hood shooter associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
The family of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 and wounded 29 at the Texas military base, held his mother's funeral at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va., on May 31, 2001, according to her obituary in the Roanoke Times newspaper.
In 2001, Anwar Aulaqi was an imam, or spiritual leader, at the Washington-area mosque. Aulaqi told the FBI in 2001 that, before he moved to Virginia in early 2001, he met with 9/11 hijacker Nawaf al-Hazmi several times in San Diego. Al-Hazmi was at the time living with Khalid al-Mihdhar, another hijacker. Al-Hazmi and another hijacker, Hani Hanjour, attended the Dar al Hijrah mosque in Virginia in early April 2001.
In his FBI interview, Aulaqi denied ever meeting with al-Hazmi and Hanjour while in Virginia.
Aulaqi, a native-born U.S. citizen, left the United States in 2002, eventually traveling to Yemen. He was investigated by the FBI in 1999 and 2000 after it was learned that he may have been contacted by a possible procurement agent for Osama bin Laden. During this investigation, the FBI learned that Aulaqi knew people involved in raising money for Hamas, a Palestinian group on the U.S. State Department's terrorist list.
Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, outreach director at Dar al Hijrah, said he did not know whether Hasan ever attended the mosque but confirmed that the Hasan family participated in services there. Abdul-Malik said the Hasans were not leaders at the mosque and their attendance was utterly normal.
The Falls Church mosque is one of the largest on the East Coast, and thousands of worshippers attend prayers and services there every week. Abdul-Malik said it's a mistake for people to conflate regular attendance at a mosque with extremism.
Many Muslims pray at the mosque multiple times a day, he said. "It's part of family life. It's like going out for ice cream after dinner."
Faizul Khan, former imam of the Muslim Community Center in nearby Silver Spring, Md., where Hasan also worshipped, said he was not aware that Hasan had attended services at Dar al Hijrah but said it would not be unusual for Hasan to attend more than one mosque concurrently.
Khan said he did not recall Hasan mentioning having been taught or preached to by Aulaqi.
The London Telegraph first reported the potential link between Hasan and the mosque.
Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey said Sunday it's important for the country not to get caught up in speculation about Hasan's Muslim faith, and he has instructed his commanders to be on the lookout for anti-Muslim reaction to the killings at the Texas post.
He says focusing on the Islamic roots of the suspected shooter could "heighten the backlash" against all Muslims in the military.
Casey says diversity in the military "gives us strength."
Casey declined to answer questions about the investigation into the shooting, but said evidence to this point shows that Hasan acted alone. He toured Fort Hood on Friday with Army Secretary John McHugh.
Casey appeared on ABC's "This Week" and CNN's "State of the Union."

Bank Melli has been accused by a US Treasury official of providing support for Iran's nuclear program, and it is illegal in the United States to do business with the bank.

......nah , I believe the goberment when they tell me "they're not sure if this guy was a terrorist".............that's why there are 13 dead people and 29 wounded..........cuz they weren't sure.......I guarantee you if I had been in charge this guy would have been removed BEFORE the people were dead.........

Terror Plot Seen as Most Serious Since 9/11

September 25, 2009

GUNMAN HASAN WAS LIFE LONG MUSLIM
.......he had Allah scrawled on his door in Arabic?...........he had weird web sites , that "the feds and army were keeping an eye on?"...........whew............we paid for six years of medical school to educate this guy.......then when he was called upon to keep HIS part of the bargain ?..............when will Americans learn ?.........I loved what his neighbor said about him.................."he was such a nice man"........ouch.....sound familiar?...........AND according to the article , Hasan WASN'T an extremist..........and it's gonna be hard to blame this on "post traumatic stress disorder" , because he hadn't BEEN to combat........he had been at Walter Reed as a mental health doctor.........we gave this Muslim an equal opportunity and he thanked us by killing our boys & girls.......Hasan once said that “Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor,” a former colleague tells the Washington Post ..........."the aggressor?".........hmmmm.........."why it sounds like jihad if I'm not mistaken"...............

Meanwhile, Josh Marshall writes that "The fact that the primary assailant has an Arabic name and is presumably, though we don't know this yet, of Muslim extraction if not a practicing Muslim, is going to be the focus of attention." But more surprising to Marshall, he adds on Talking Points Memo, is that he's not a young soldier but an Army major.

......fresh off the press...do I see a drone in their future?..."tell'em we're comin......and HELL'S comin with us"..
"I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn't get them if they really wanted to."

( Newser) – The leader of a radical Islamic sect was killed by the FBI today in a shootout in a Detroit suburb, part of a series of raids against the group, said to be plotting “an offensive jihad” in order to establish a state governed by Sharia law.
In all, 11 men face charges; two are still at large.

NOTICE THE REFERENCE THAT ROEDER SUCCUMBED TO THE INFLUENCE OF AN "ANTI-ABORTION DOMESTIC TERRORIST GROUP".................dagwood?...............so he was an "Army of God" cult member.....with quasi-biblical beliefs ( that means "not really" dagwood)......and he was domestic .....a non Muslim too.......that should make you jump for joy dagwood..........now you have an official entry......find me some more........right now , you're way behind with your allegations that there are just as many terrorists of other religions as there are Muslim terrorists...............
By Peter J. Smith
