Our neighborhood has been cut off by 6' privacy fences so many of the kiddies couldn't see our porch light.  Cul-de-sac inside a cul-de-sac.  We only got 28 ghouls and tramps.  A two year old decided to go all Jared Allen on our cat who was watching from behind the scenes.  That was priceless.

.........that was fuuny........."all Jared Allen on your cat"..........ROFLMDAO................I was JUST thinking about him yesterday as he played with Brett.............from what I understand?.................Carl Peterson has ALREADY received his Christmas card from Jared Allen this year........................I can  only IMAGINE how grateful Jared is to the Chiefs................it was a huuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake to get rid of him................everybody saw it but "the suits"....................he built that bar off Southwest Blvd. and  "the Puritans" freaked out........looks like he hasnt't had any personal problems in Minnesota...........he's been "kicking @ss and taking names later" ...............thanks again Carl..................

Hey Six!  Candy and beer?  In my experience candy and beer is good as long as it is not chocolate, by the way drink one for me :)  Happy Halloween to you too!

Greetings Master Eldoggg .
A happy all hallow's eve to everyone .
Avoidance of apple bobbing will be in order for me this eve .
I will be partaking in the established tradition of door to door travel in search of ale.
I am told the Westport township is the place to indulge this pleasure to the fullest extent .
Perhaps there will even be some throwing of nuts onto the fire this all hallow's eve .
I bid you all a safe eve of mirth and merriment .

All Hallow’s Eve is a very old holiday combining the traditions of the Celts, Romans, Catholics and Protestants.  Since Hallowe’en was part of a feast that celebrated the harvest, food was very important.
“Bobbing for Apples” decided who would marry first. Throwing nuts on the fire would tell you if your love would be true. If the nuts burned steady your love would be true but if it popped or crackled you were out of luck.
Trick or Treating was for adults and carried on from a pagan tradition where you went from door to door looking for “lambswool” which was a concoction of apples, sugar and ale.  This was combined with the All Saints’ Day tradition where everyone in the procession wore masks but the poor could go door to door asking for “soulcakes”.  Soon, everyone went from door to door begging for ale, food or money just before that long, dark, scary winter set in.

You're not going to be yelling at any little whippersnappers about getting off your lawn are you? Just messing with ya. Hope you have a good time with you suds and blues.

Halloween is a big deal in my family. I always make sure we go trick or treating, but I think I'm in the last year or two of trick or treating with my kids. Now I'll have to find some neighborhood kids to follow around.

My sister is a Halloween fanatic and has her house decorated Halloween something serious. She has 3 graveyards, all the lights in her house are changed to blue, green, red, and black light. There's strobes, props, stuff hanging from trees, the ceiling, her fireplace mantle is covered, she has stuff in the windows, webs everywhere and then she throws a big party along with a bunch of ghoulish food (this year I took putrid punch). She had this party last night so today I'm going to the parade to watch my daughter in it then tonight it will be trick or treating time.

..........I wouldn't waste Halloween by staying home.........it's the most lively night of the year...........I'll have a note on the door (inside the glass) directing the goblins next door for an extra treat............I'll be  "shapeshifting " from Superdog to SUPERMAN................I'm on a mission to find Lois..............

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO YOU ELDOGGG!  DRaasch, I'm so sorry you have to work, I know you were looking forward to going trick or treating with the family in your new terminator costume.  That bites man!  My son is going to be Optimus Prime, while my oldest daughter is going to be a pirate and my youngest daughter is going to be a witch.  Go figure!

Well, at least I made it to the Mystik Pumpkin Festival last week.  That got the costuming urge out of my system, so I'm good!    My co-workers keep bugging me to make a homemade version of Optimus Prime... that actually transforms into a truck!  I saw a video online a year ago where a kid in Japan had done that...but I think that'd "cross the line" for me into being way too "uber-geeky" !

Pirates are hot this year!  Cool!

Hope your kids have fun!

On who's opinion there DRaasch?  I think it would be cool if you did that, I know my son would definitely love it!  The costume urge never really leaves the system, but yes at least you got to do it.  We only get to take our son out since the girls are with their dad this year, but I'm sure the girls will still have a blast.  The girls get to attend their first "halloween" party this year before going trick or treating, so I think that will have them all siked up.

<sigh>  Unfortunately, some of us are stuck at work...and have to be at work early tomorrow.... thanks to how "time-change weekend" affects the world of computers.  <grrrrrr.....>
