..........looks like we're still at it........"clinging to our guns & religion"........this sarcastic venom was spewed by our new commander in chief last fall .......the phrase DOES have a condescending tone to it doesn't it?.......I don't get the animosity toward religion.......he went to "Wright's " hate filled church for twenty years.........he has Ramadan dinners at the Whitehouse.......he professes to be a "Christian" , but forsakes the "assembling together" by having his OWN private church service .....somehow it doesn't surprise me that the "chosen one" has chosen to worship with himself ...........he should just come right out and admit the truth......that he went to church because it was necessary to Chicago politics.......and now he can't decide which preacher would be best for his political future.......people do the things they're interested in...........and they ignore the things they're NOT interested in............somebody help me out here.........."where is it that Barry has been worshipping at the last 8 months?..............the basketball court?............just come out and tell us the truth Barry , and quit blowing smoke up our @ss............and as for us "clinging to our guns?"...........well...........gun sales up 42% over last year......ammo sales up 49% over last year............

While there are economic reasons—supply is off as the war effort eats up necessary materials—Americans have still managed to buy 12 billion rounds in the past year, up from 7 to 10 billion in a regular year, and most agree it’s for fear of tighter gun control laws under a Democratic president.
People are buying ammo for guns they don’t yet have, a retailer tells the Washington Post. They say, “When I get it, ammunition may be hard to get.” Federal tax receipts for gun sales are up 42% over last year; for ammunition, that number is 49%. The pattern of hoarding ammunition under a Democratic administration is nothing new, a gun control advocate says, but “it is a pattern that has tremendous risk attached to it.” Poppycock, counters an NRA official. The activity is perfectly legal, and folks are just “worrying” about whether “they’ll be attacked by politicians.” Presumably via legislation…

Yes it was great day. As said earlier I got a excerise workout showing a guy a place I want to sell. Was great to take a walk in the woods.
Yeah, been looking over variuos blogs, more reading than posting on my behalf. Sometimes I see a cause to post about. Most are pretty peaceful blogs and feel well treated. Its the MT Washington hoop la that seems to get bizarre. LOL
I find it odd that if these crime/gang issues are so important...that a certain person cannot even accept a jesture of help in any area we might agree on, refuses to ackowledge a post offering to end a feud, then blasts me over everything she can be negative about. Thats OK though, it proves my point that she has no ideas on actually doing something. As I said all along, its all about making a cemetery out to be something horrible when it is not. Beyond that all I see in the crusade is nothing more than a sham.
I have other thoughts but probably not legal to post em. LOL
I didn't care about helping her out actually, but the refusal to acknowledge the posts, and flaming me in some of the others....I gotta admit, in a round about way I think it proves our points pretty good.

Mad Dog........it got moved down the thread line most likely........the person who starts a blog header can delete the whole blog , but that's the only way........the moderator won't delete anything unless it's profane or really abusive.............you may have just lost it.......sometimes posts can go to a second page if there are enough entries at the top of the header.............
Most people who buy guns purchase them for sporting activities, protection, collections, etc. People who support gun control get this werd idea if guns disappear, crime goes away, the sun shines and the flowers bloom.......rain arrives in due season. Personally, that is bunk. We lose the guns, they become a black market item, the criminals buy them in this black market, then I get one pointed to my headbeing forcedto say yes sir...then they shoot me anyway.
My question that I think others input on would be interesting. Since I was told someone has to be in you home before you can shoot them (intruders) and not ourside, what value would be in a conc eal and carry permit? Like if I got attacked at MT Washington (Just kidding) why couldn't I shoot? Actually I do not have this permit, but so far see no value in one eather.
You can shoot anybody that you feel is putting your's or somebody else's lives in jeopardy regardless of location. As far as the other stuff, an intruder in your house would be considered putting your life in jeopardy. An intruder in your yard, not so much, however, if they did then you would be justified in shooting them.
Yours is the common opinion of anyone I met. Its mine as well. Seems as though (so Im told) that alot can do with local ordinances too. Personally I always thought State Statutes superceeded local ordinances. In this location and I am serious, it seems legal is whatever the county sheriff wants to drum up to fit the situation. Thats a bit off topic, but love saying it. :)
Fortunately the judges don't always agree with the sherrif on some things and see through some stuff.
Hello MD2020! You are correct State Stats superceed any local ordinance, just like any federal laws superceed state and local.... Then, you have international laws that can superceed all three! In all reality, some judges will look at local first, then, state, then, federal........ County Sheriffs thinks their crap don't stink and they can do whatever they want with no consequences, there again they are wrong, but they sound great lying about the situation!

I have 3 more weeks of electroshock therapy and the PT has decided to keep it going but it is more to strengthen what I have versus trying to make something work that isn't working....... I have now come to the realization that I will always need asst on walking from either a cane or crutches...... No one ask for this type of life ever, but especially a person that is 30 with 3 young kids and a full life ahead of her and was healthy........ I never knew a staph infection in your leg would prevent you from walking, NOW, I know this and I'm living proof......... Like my daddy told me yesterday, at least I still have my life and you know what I also heard that from Eldoggg here not to long ago and they are right! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT GUYS!

You said it all eldogg, right on the mark. Glad your ok. I was, till I got unexpected phone call and had to walk a guy over a place I have up for sale. I didn't know I was so out of shape till this old guy had me walk him all over the woods, gulleys, etc. Kind of fun though, nice day for stroll in the woods. Turned out to be a pretty nice guy, best yet HE MAY EVEN BUY ME OUT! YEAH!

Wasn't it you that said you went out to the cemetery on Friday and said you didn't see any graffiti? I'm with you cell phone pics, that's why I have an actual camera that I take pics with. Otherwise the pictures don't come out very well on my cell phone.
We're in agreement on a lot of your points. Crime isn't going to go away, but it can be reduced. And not everything around here is gangs. However, why wouldn't we want to put a spotlight on any gang activity so that it just stays relatively harmless and we don't end up like KC with drive bys and such?

I think Elisa has been pretty clear on what she wants to happen. She wants police to take it more seriously and she wants those that are doing it to be held responsible. She wants the citizens to stand up and take a stand on it. No, you're not going to stop all of it, there will always be hoodlums. But sitting around saying oh well, it's always happened and it's always going to happen so why even bother means it will just get worse over time. I can't remember who it is on the blogs (and I'm not going to look it up right now) that is always talking about the NY Mayor his take on crime where he was even going after jaywalkers. All the sudden crime went down in NY City. Where is that person sayin why aren't we taking a stand on anything? Oh wait, I believe we do have a person doing that.

Wow, just wow, Only you would take what I said about Elisa putting her money where her mouth is and doing other things in the community about crime besides blogging about crime as she's too busy to be bothered to blog the "proof" you want. Only you would see it that way. You said you saw nothing in what Elisa said she saw, which she did say she saw graffiti, all the sudden your story changed and you said you did see graffiti, but that doesn't count somehow because as a whole the cemetery is peaceful.
You don't know what cititzens taking a stand means? You have tunnel vision sometimes. This isn't just about graffiti, this is about crime in general. Citizens taking a stand means doing what MM did when he saw drug deals going down in the Aldi's parking lot and taking pictures of it. It means you report crime when you see it regardless on what it is. You don't just sit around saying oh well, crime happens and that's not worth the time to call it in. After awhile a pattern emerges and when the police see that people are calling the same crime in in the same areas all the time, usually they do something about it.
Try to see the big picture here Doggg and not just some graffiti at the cemetery. Oh and Elisa hasn't asked me to be her spokesperson, she does a decent job of that herself, I'm just trying to get your brain out of the fog and see what's actually being said.

........that is very funny and very true kilroy..........I'm sure the residents would laugh..........if they could..........so it sounds like there has been an average of an incident every nine days for the last 6 years of reports that were obtained...........I'll try to find out how many acres are out there , to give us an accurate idea just how bad an incident average of every nine days is................on a quarter acre that might be excessive........on a hundred acres it doesn't sound so terrible .............how much time does it take for a maintenance guy to clean up an incident every nine days?..........surely you can see my point...........
....EDIT : Mt Washington Forever Cemetery is 200 acres..............so if I'm not mistaken..........we have an average of over 40 incidents per year sice 04 .........an average of one 2 - 4 priority incident every nine days.............for 200 acres?.................I'm sorry , this just doesn't sound like anything extraordinary ..........it's probably cheaper to clean it up than to install cameras or to hire security men and /or dogs............I'd say find a new blog topic..............that's " the stand" this citizen is taking........

Have you ever seen me refer to the word busy with Elisa? I don't know how else to tell you this. I said that Elisa does things in the community about crime IN ADDITION to blogging about it. I never said that Elisa was too busy to blog. I don't know how to make that any clearer to you. I would draw you a map, but I still don't think you would get it.
I also don't know about you, but if I owned a business, regardless of the size, I would be thinking that something happening there every 9 days on average would get a little old after awhile. You don't think it would?

Yes I can see your point and know exactly where you are coming from. The city is doing great! Crime is at an acceptable level and business should deal with the small amount of crime they have. Pass crime costs on to the consumer. Keep complaints to a minimum so we do not look to bad. It is a waste of time to report crime so do not bother. Instant success! Less crime reports. What coverup? Eldoggg you running for office?
.......nobody said "not to report crime".........that's why they put it in the newspaper on a crime blog...........it is a livable city..........over here............there is no acdceptable level of crime..........so I guess you guys have a soapbox for life............we can spend all day everyday talking about every crime incident..........how again does this solve the crime problem?...........is that what you and Elisa consider yourselves to be ?........"crime reporters?"...............I'll back off.........I din't realize the Examiner and the IPD were involved in a "cover up".........do tell..........can you support that with some facts?...........please................what crimes were "swept under the rug?".......the cost of doing business is ALWAYS passed on to the consumers......why aren't we talking about "shoplifter attacks" on Independence Center , Walmart , and a hundred other stores?................I managed retail shops in the 70's and 80's..........they considered 1 -3 % shrink normal to doing business......a fixed business expense........why aren't we having a crusade against shoplifters?.........they're costing consumers WAAAAAAAAAAY more than graffitti artists............why isn't THIS one of Elisa's causes?...............why aren't the "citizens taking a stand" against shoplifters?.......................why the cover up?.............I gotta go.............that should make all the "chicken littles" happy..........ROFLMDAO.................a big chunk of the sky just fell through my roof...............
yes shoplifting is a major problem. Stores close because of shoplifting. Certain areas get so high the stores just close. I run every bit of 3% shoplifting. If people quit reporting crime there is no crime to put in the paper. I know one business that never reports crime. They consider it a waste of time. Sorry you need facts this is just hear say. Sorry hard to get facts about people who have lost faith in the system.
