.....AUSSIE AUTO RACE : Bathurst 1000......race fans limited to 24 -36 beers per day.......(sigh)
........wow.........the poor Aussies are restricted by LAW.........to only 24 beers a day for the 4 day race.........OR................36 beers a day if you're drinking LIGHT beer.........I don't know.....sounds like discrimination to me........against fat people ..........so let me see if I get this right........that's 96 beers allowed by law in 4 days......or 4 cases per person...........but if I go with LIGHT beer?...........I can legally consume 6 cases of beer by myself in 4 days and still be within the confines of Aussie law...............I'm assuming that nobody cheats..........by having a friend who has only had 73 beers?.........trade their full bottle for an empty with a guy who has already had his limit...........sounds like a fun affair.........4 days of hot sun.............and stark raving Aussies............"hopped up & rowdy"..........whew...........what is the world coming to when a guy is restricted to 4 -6 cases of beer in four measly days?...............I wonder how they all get back to their hotels or homes...............ahh.........there seems to be something coming back to me about the origin of Australia.........it would seem that the "gene pool" has some "wild roots"..............ROFL................"what's that I hear?.......the ghost of Carrie Nation with her axe high in the air".....................
( Newser) – Fans headed to a four-day event that’s a highlight of the Australian auto-racing calendar will only be allowed one case of beer per day—or 36 cans if it’s light beer. “Wine lovers have not escaped the heavy hand of the law either,” the Guardian notes of those bound for the Bathurst 1,000, beginning Thursday, “being restricted to a punitive four liters a day.”

sounds like discrimination to me........against fat people ????? Sounds like discrimination against drunks!
The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter.
........of course I wasn't serious.......and truthfully I don't know HOW it could even be considered discrimination against drunks...............sounds like the law was MADE for drunks..............a case to a case and a half a day?............
......I'm sorry ..you'll HAVE to forgive me.....I clicked on the "Sydney Morning Herald" icon above.....just to read the Aussie version..........and so after reading it I HAVE to "copy & paste " it for you..............be sure to read the part at the end................"Police are also urging people travelling to Bathurst to drive safely and closely monitor their speed and fatigue."............erhh?...........that's great advice but I would think they need to be urging people traveling FROM Bathurst to have safeguards in place........ ...they're going to be a LOT more "fatigued" when they LEAVE...........
V8 fans face slab limit at Bathurst 1000
October 6, 2009
V8 fans will again be limited to one slab of beer a day at this year's Bathurst 1000 car race.
Police will be focusing on reducing alcohol-related crime when petrol heads descend upon Mount Panorama, Bathurst, in NSW's central west, this week.
For the third year running, adult race-goers will be limited to bringing one case (24 cans) of full-strength beer or one block (36 cans) of light or mid-strength beer each day.
Restrictions also apply to one case (24 cans) of pre-mixed drinks a day or one cask of wine up to four litres.
Combinations of the options will not be allowed.
Assistant Commissioner Alan Clarke said police will not tolerate alcohol-fuelled violence.
"This is one of the greatest motorsport events in Australia and for some it is a pilgrimage that they make every year," Mr Clarke said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Police respect people's rights to enjoy the race weekend, but will promptly act when the law is broken."
Police are also urging people travelling to Bathurst to drive safely and closely monitor their speed and fatigue.
The Bathurst 1000 runs from Thursday to Sunday.
