We've received a fair number of emails and calls on this issue since the story broke earlier this week. Some against our decision, others in support. This wasn't a news department issue, but now it has become a news story. I know a few bloggers have already weighed in, but what does everybody think? Are we wrong, or does the reasoning that since Missouri does not recognize same-sex marriages as legal so we shouldn't run them in the paper stand up?

As part of The Examiner's expanding online efforts, several staff members are launching new blogs this week. We hope we will be able to add to the already thriving online discussion, and perhaps generate some new topics as well.
My blog is called "Ask the Editor." This blog is designed to answer questions or concerns about the newspaper,  our coverage, or anything pertaining to The Examiner. I am not, however, a technical guru, so I can not fix problems with the computer or site, but I will be glad to pass it along to the appropriate people.
