Obamanomics and Health Care

In a few short six months the Obama administration has made a shambles out of what was the best economic system the world has ever seen. They have completely derailed a system that gave this country a level of prosperity that was the envy of the world. Now they are focusing on doing the same thing to our health care system. In order to give health care to 2% of the population they are ruining it for the other 98% and spending $one trillion in the process. We all should contact our national legislators and tell them to stop this madness.

I just found out about a nationwide TEA party protest on the healthcare issue set for Saturday, August 22nd at high noon, at every Congressman's local office. You can get more information on the Recess Rally at  http://recessrally.com/

And check out my website www.TeaPartyKC.com for some other local TEA parties coming up.

Let's see, in six months I have to say that Obama has done nothing but travel around and I am not sure how he can help this country when he is spending so much time helping other countries, but the problems this country has is not because of Obama.  Bush caused the problems in our economy and left them behind for the new administration to fix.  I am not sure they can be fixed at this point since we put someone in office who has no experience and doesn't seem to be focusing on long term plans to help the people who are suffering in the US.  I am a single mom who cannot afford health insurance for my son, so I do believe there needs to be a better health care system.  The one we have is not working for anyone but the doctors and insurance companies.  I know third world countries who have better health care systems than the US.  This is sad because we are supposed to be so much better than all the other countries and yet how many people are like me, people who have to tell their children "Don't get sick or hurt because I do not have health insurance and I cannot afford to pay for the doctors, the prescriptions or a hospital visit."  Health care in this country is a business and if one cannot pay for the services offered whether it be doctors, prescriptions or health insurance one goes through life unhealthy.  There are two classes who in this country who have good health care: the poor and the rich.  I am middle class, or so I am told when I try to get services for my son, I qualify for nothing and yet in todays economy am barely surviving.  Something needs to done so that everyone in this country has the opportunity to have good health care options for themselves and their families.  If third world countries can offer good health care systems that do not leave out the middle classes why can't we?  We are supposed to be the best but I know first hand that this country is the worst when it comes to health care systems.  All those doctors and insurance companies that are fighting a better health care system because of their fear of losing money, well shame on you.  This should not be about money but about the people who die everyday because they could not afford heath care.  Money should never come before saving a life.

My 24 year old brother died from not having health insurance. He was left to die by Blue Springs paramedics in November of 1991. I still do not believe the US government should be involved in health care. Everyone seems to have plenty of money for: tobacco products, alcohol products, cell phones, gambling, cable, etc. The list could go on and on. I don't know how old your son is but you might check into the individual cost for health insurance for him. My son has his own individual health insurance and the cost is half what it cost him per month for his cell phone bill.

What kind of coverage does he have?

Blue Cross Blue Shield. $1,000.00 deductible. No prescription but he does receive discounted drugs through a card they provide. Cost is $82.45 per month. He is 24 years old and I'm glad he understands that if push would ever come to shove the cell phone would go first.

"I know third world countries who have better health care systems than the US"

I don't know of any national company that doesn't have a test market they experiment any small change, let alone something as radical as this. Remember when Coke changed their formula? I suggest we test market this in the blue states, since they're the ones going to pass it and couldn't wait for 'change they could believe in'. With the radical change of this plan both the proponents and opponents agree when it's implemented there's no turning back, the toothpaste will be out of the tube. The socialists are elated by that notion and they're the ones currently driving the Democrats bus. I got an e-mail a represenative from McCaskill is going to be at the Mid-Continent library in Blue Springs next week, I'll ask her not to vote for the health bill, but I haven't seen a photo at the White House of Obama yet she wasn't peeking around the corner with that same glimmer in her eye when she looks at Barry that Monica had when she looked at Bill.

dshrout?.........that's pure genius.......why didn't  Humpty Dumpty & "all the king's men"  think of that?.......that's beautiful.......erhh......"and now back to Coca Cola Classic".............sounds like a business man "Warren Buffet" type idea.........test market in the blue states?..................McDonalds and Coke test market stuff like CRAAAAAAAAAAZY before they waste THEIR OWN money.......and reputations.............but we run the country like "bumpkins".........."hit & miss"........even pharmaceuticals have "control groups and test studies".........but what czar would be in charge of  "Dept. of Transportation?"..............ROFL.................when the mass exodus of the "blue states" occurs....... ha ha ha..............

That's a good point, eldoggg, the FDA has the pharmacudicals test these drugs before we swallow them, yet the Federal government is perfectly willing to shove this down our throats with no field test studies. Their program is strike while the irons hot, we don't get opportunities like this everyday!!! the government is running roughshawed over the citizens.

dshrout?......I'm sure you've seen the old plaque of "Footprints In the Sand"........I hear the "Franklin Mint" is coming out with a commerative Obama plaque called  "Footprints In Your Back"...........

eldoggg

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with Barack Obama. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, poverty or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to Obama,
“You promised me Obama, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always and support me and the rest of the world too. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
Obama replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I was taking money out of your pocket to give to those who didn't want to work as hard. There really are still two sets of footprints, but you can't see MY footprints cause they are plastered across your back from when I was trampling all over you. Oh yes, by the way, I, and your fellow countrymen, want to thank you for laying down willingly so I could pick your pocket. We need more volunteers like you!”

You're kidding, right? The Obama administration ruined the national economy? No one who knows anything at all about the last few years could agree with you. Nice try, though, trying to blame the last 8 years on someone who'sbeen in office for 6 months. What were you doing last Fall, when the banking system (under Bush's close watch - insert eye roll) collapsed? Or was that the democrats fault from 8 years ago? Clinton was the problem, right?  What about the Iraq War and all the cost for that, again, the democrats must be at fault, right? Clinton, right?  Look at the fiscal spending for our national government over the last 30 years. What do you see? Ballooning deficits under the Republicans. Look it up. I will agree with you on one point, Obama's healthcare bill will not help anything. To make the government just another option with all the other insurance companies changes nothing. We will have to pay more and more for the same. Single-payer is the way to go. I was hoping he would have the guts to do it. Looks like the lobbyists are winning out; again. The American people get screwed in the process.

CAN YOU SAY BARNEY FRANK AND CHRIS DODD? In 2007 when Obama began his run for the White House I listened to everything he said. I began to transition everything. When people remove their money from the stock market (because someone wants to impose higher taxes) there isn't any capital for business therefore people lose their jobs, etc. More job loss to come under this thought process. Hold on to your pocketbook.

I am not a supporter of Obama, But I think it is unfair to blame this entire mess on him. I personally think we can blame almost all members of the house and senate and since the Fed sets monetary policy they should also share the blame.

Why not blame Obama? The liberals among us have been blaming Bush for years. In fact I am wondering when they will say he caused the outbreak of Swine Flu. seriously, you are correct. the mess was started by a congress that passed and reinforced the CRA, giving rise to ACORN and the sub-prime market. That''s the underlying cause. Obama's fiscal policies are simply exacerbating a bad situation. It is unfortunate that at this time in our history we are saddled with an inexperienced president and a congress with overwhelming one party control. We might extend the blame to include Pelosi, who seems to be writing most of the spending bills, but  it is now Obama's problem and so far he has done nothing to alleviate the pain.

We blamed bush..."for years..." because he'd been in office for years (eight of them!).  Agreed, Obama has done nothing stop the bleeding, so-to-speak. The stimulis only delays the inevitable, which is what we did during the Great Depression. Trying to put off the recession is not finanically healthy. Let's stop the false propping up of the financial market, and let the chips fall where they may.

Bush wasn't in office when the CRA was passed nor when it was amended, If you want to blame somebody who was in office start with Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, then you can move on to Pelosi and Reid. They had the purse strings when th crap hit the fan in '06.

Civil & I have argued that for two years here?????
In the 30's it took WWII to get us rollin again???????
Any one U want to start a War with that the people would support??? we need another 9/11 for that?
Do U knnow that 1% of the people in the US are fighting the wars we have NOW??????? 1%...

......I loved  what King Barry said in a townhall meeting....."exclaiming how TIRED HE WAS of people sayin that the government wanted to take over "health care".....I honestly believe he has been a lawyer long enough that he believes his own spins?..........otherwise one could conclude that King Barry is going to rewrite the contstitution in order to install socialism..........King Barry exclaimed that Americans "will be able to keep their doctor and/ or health care plans that THEY HAVE NOW.......if they want to........but he stopped there......instead of telling the WHOLE truth about "change & hope"..........what the REAL parameters and restrictions will be......he purposely mislead the audience in a deceptive manner......by omission.........there are no less than 11 health care plans on the table I hear.......of which 4 have  mandatory requirements for insurance companies to insure those with preexisting conditions........there are positive points in some of these plans......but why is EVRYTHING presented by King Barry in "such a hurry to get passed"......the old "EMERGENCY THING?" is  worn out...we saw what happened before with a couple other of his "rushed programs"......admittedly we needed quicker action on the banks and the car companies but HEALTH CARE?.....which will affect EVERY AMERICAN for decades?...........what's the rush?.....because they have to start worrying about reelection in a year?......that's the poorest reason to rush through a plan which is "half baked" that I have ever heard.......some lawmakers have proclaimed that the 1400 pages is too much to read......that makes me feel confident.......fire that guy from Michigan........there IS a need for change in the status quo.......King Barry's plan DOES NOT meet that need........it is full of flaws and holes and unanswered questions......and we haven't even heard the WHOLE thing yet......just parts.........we might need some oversight of health care and revision......nothing like the level of socialism that King Barry would bestow on his unwilling subjects.........captalism and democracy is what distinguished this country's greatness from Russia , China and other countries....... .......maybe capitalism should have SOME restraints in health care........I'll buy that concept......rushing health care reform is THE DUMBEST idea King Barry could EVER have............the "shotgun " method of policy........take a big scatter shot and see what it nets you?...........sometimes you hit......(then you can claim success)......sometimes you don't (then you can say that you inherited THIS mess......and are therefore NOT responsible for your failed policies)........beautiful..........I heard King Barry say how "Medicare is a success as a govt run health care company"........oh yeah?......then why are they broke and hemmoraging money through fraudulant black holes?..............I  LOVE lawyer "double talk".........."spins and swirls".........."rainbows and unicorns"..............."acorns , nuts and fruits"..............it's STILL a great country.............I hear some lawmakers are hiding under their desks because they hate all the phone calls from enraged citizens.........they DO listen.....they want to get reeelected...........some really do care what happens........in between affairs with aides and interns...........stop the madness......but the brakes on .....take a few minutes and make a few calls to your elected officials.........remember .........they work for YOU..............
