It's simple to believe one side and I don't so let that be said for you guys just wanting to argue I won't.
But I will say you aren't to bright if you believe only what You see or read and believe that every site on the internet is reputable lol thats your bad for that
yeah we all want things to change and arguing against your fellow americans or whatever you want to call them isn't going to get it done, It's so funny how everyone is against everyone.
and on the flag part and serving wow I won't even go there
I'am going to go back to watching and maybe I'll change because you typed something lol
a lot here lately that John McCain hasn't been wearing a flag on his suit even when Obama is. I guess that makes John McCain UnAmerican as well.
I don't wear flags on my suits ever. To be honest, I think that wearing a flag saying that you're patriotic is a sham. So is putting a flag outside your house. If you're really truly patriotic, then you would be doing or would have done stuff to help the country out. I absolutely detest lip service and people who claim to be patriotic because they have a flag somewhere around their person and haven't done one damn thing to make this country better.
I served my country, I fly the flag in the front window of my home, if I had a lapel I would proudly wear a flag pin there and I don't think my patriotism is a sham. There are those among us who, for one reason or another, can't perform service to the country and yet feel moved to display her flag. They are not a sham, just somebody not as fortunate as I. They are patriots in every sense of the word and just as proud to be Americans as are we who could serve. Is saluting the flag, reciting the pledge of allegiance or standing for the playing of the national anthem a sham show of patriotism? Just because you never served? Fly your flag proudly and make no excuses for doing so.
Anyone who can pray can be of service to their country. Prayer "warriors" are just as vital to the well-being of this country - and the world - as are the flag wavers, pledge makers, pin wearers, anthem standers, law makers, and military men & women.
[,,,,,,Being a legal citizen + voting + not being part of the problem = my right to complain + being part of the solution......]
I'm not saying that because you fly the flag you're a sham. My point is that there are people out there that think that just because they fly a flag or wear a flag lapel pin that that is what patriotism is all about. And then they have the gall to question somebody else's patriotism because they don't fly the flag or wear the lapel pin.
Patriotism seems to be like going to church for a lot of people. As long as you go to church on Sunday's everything is hunky dory keen because you went. The rest of the week doesn't matter. Just because you fly a flag, everything is hunky dory keen and nothing else matters.
I also served in the military and I'm very proud of that service. But I want to be labeled a patriot for the service that I did in the military and that I continue to do instead of being called a patriot because I'm flying a flag or wear a lapel pin.
were they still wearing the flag with the stars to the left or had they changed it over to this new stars forward deal?
So I would be unable to answer that question, but it seems to me that the stars have been on the left for awhile now.
started in 2005 but I can find out why?
I bet that they got a bunch of cheap patches from China that were backward and then decided to spin it and use them any way rather than have to send them back???
What was U unit?
Perhaps so, but don''t be so quick to judge whether a person isa"sham" or just expressing his beliefs. Unless you wear your service or lack thereof or advertise your intentions on on your sleeve how is one to know? I suppose there may be those who plan evil on our country under the guise of patriotism, but their actions generally become clear and are thwarted before damage is done. Other than that, I say fly your flag proudly no matter the reason, just do it properly.
because sometimes it's really hard getting your point across.
And my point is just because you fly a flag or wear a lapel pin, that doesn't make you a patriot. It means you are proud of the US, but that still doesn't make you a patriot.
Patriots are people who love their country so much that they are or have been involved in making it better. Flying a flag or wearing a lapel pin isn't that, it's just a symbol.
And I try not to judge anybody. If they want to fly a flag I'm cool with that. If they love their country I'm cool with that. But don't tell me that you're patriotic when that's all you've ever done for this country. And there's a lot more that people can do for their country than serve in the military.
To my way of thinking there is no reason to display the flag if not to show love of country. That is a sign of patriotism. To not display the flag could have many meanings - it is not felt necessary to display (as in the case of McCain. Can there possibly be a doubt of his patrioitism?), they don't own a flag, its too much trouble to raise it or pin it on. Displaying the flag is not a sham. Why would a person go to all the trouble to display patriotism if in fact they are not? Why would I make the assumption that a person displaying the flag is a sham> Why would I assume a person not displaying the flag is unpatriotic? Seems like you have me in a catch-22. By flying my flag I might be considered a fake patriot. If I don't display it I am unpatriotic. Either way I am prejudged to be something that I may or may not be. Since I can't win either way, I will continue to fly the flag and let you wonder if I am faking it or am I truely a patriot.
about people's patriotism when I see a flag. It really doesn't affect me one way or the other. My whole point is that people are saying that Obama isn't patriotic because he doesn't wear a lapel pin. That doesn't make him patriotic or unpatriotic. In my opinion, what he has done in the community and in the Senate makes him patriotic. He has sacrificed his time for the betterment of the country (even if people disagree with what he thinks is betterment).
He went to a hi priced prep schools with a mom who could never have paid the tuition, he went to a good college and the Harvard. He had a chance to go to work for Rezo but opted for a job in his law fir instead, he was groomed all the way..
If he gets elected he will change the face of the US, is that what U want?
Do U want the KC school Board runnin the country?
What’s funny even the black IPD officer I talk to don’t think he will be good for us….
So elect him and then live with him...
got accepted to Annapolis because of who is father and grandfather were. He got jets because of them as well. He ditched I believe 2 aircraft before he was shot down in Vietnam. And I'm not trying to belittle his confinement and the courage that it took for him to go through that.
After he got back, he went to work as a LIason from the Navy to Congress. He pushed through projects that we didn't need. He cheated on his first wife quite a bit. He was arrested once because a couple of women wasn't enamored with him and he cussed them out so bad that he was arrested. He ditched another couple of aircraft. He then divorced the wife that stood by him while he was a prisoner, disabled, and with his kids to marry his current wife who just happened to be worth millions.
In the 80's he was caught up with the Keating 5 even though he wasn't convicted (which is really kinda what they are saying about Obama's associations with Ayers). He was busted calling his wife a pretty bad word because she teased him about his thinning hair in front of a bunch of reporters who decided not to report it.
So ya see, neither candidate is squeaky clean. However, for the last month, I've heard what Obama's plans are and I've heard McCain not say much except how bad Obama sucks. I'm much more likely to vote for somebody who has ideas as opposed to somebody who says you suck.
there ain't a choice in the bunch...
U would prob do a better job, but I wouldn't wish it on U
the next four years are going to be a mess,
they are talking another 100 billion bail out, and this morning they
have said there is nothing to keep AIG from using the bail out money
for there legal fee's
When did they start sewin the flags on the military uniforms backwards?
I thought it look wrong and went and checked some old Pic’s and sure enough they were all just the other way...
stars to the front and stripes going back…
I’ll bet some idiot at Halaburton ordered them wrong from china and we just said hell with it sew em on???
I don't know when the flag was placed on the uniforms with the field to the right, but the idea was to show the troops were moving forward so the flag would be streaming behind, you know like it does on a standard when the cavalry charges. There is no intent to be disrespectful of the flag, only to show it is always going forward.
If you are so concerned with Obama's background and beliefs go register to vote and cast your ballot for someone else.It doesn't have to be for McCain. Write in your own name. While you are at it cast a vote fot Governor and Lt. governor, for or against one of the constitutional amendments, choose your Representative. There is a lot more to government than a president. If you choose not to register and/or not to vote, then I sugest you not belly ache about things you obviously don't really care about. By the way, get your facts straight before you post. Nothing you wrote about Obama is true. You should learn to use factcheck.org. It would save your spreading of wild accusations. I think your post is crap and I am a McCain supporter.
That's more than one question.
You find me one source that says Obama burned a flag. And he ISN'T A MUSLIM. You must get a lot of email from right-wingers because almost everything you mentioned comes straight from right-wing propaganda.
Is Obama a Muslim or a Christian?
http://fightthesmears.com/articles/3/baracksfaith
What, exactly, are his non-American beliefs? Name one. He never burned a flag.
A lot of Christians think that "flag worship" is idolatry. It's against my religion to offer devotion to inanimate objects, and I'm a Christian. It makes you more American if you wear a flag pin??? A lot of politicians wear flag pins while they crap all over the Constitution. Obama taught Constitutional law. I think it's safe to assume that he knows the Constitution better than 98% of the people who read the Examiner blog.
Would I be right if I said you were un-American because you refuse to capitalize the word "America"?
The same people that spread the lies and smears you've mentioned supported Bush while he sold our country out to the Chinese and the Saudis and the Corporations. Where has all of your concern about a "hostile takeover" been thusfar?
Since you're not even registered to vote, why bother spreading propaganda (lies) that could influence the election? I think if you were REALLY REALLY concerned you would have registered to vote!
"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel." Samuel Johnson, April 7, 1775
it's all ok now I'am a muslim! come see me :)
