The First Mavericks Game

The excitement for the first Mavericks game in the new Events Center began with all of the traffic before the game started.  It was absolutely wonderful to see so many people coming into our city.  The Events Center was surrounded by news teams from what appeared to be all of the local television stations.

Upon entering the Events Center, we were greeted by a very well trained and friendly staff.  I don’t know how many people are employed there, but the Center was staffed quite well.  I am sure that each of the employees were happy to have this source of employment.  I am also certain that the packed restaurants nearby were pleased to have the customers.

The game was entertaining.  I have never played hockey, so it is difficult to appreciate the skills that the players possess.  The players obviously skate well and handle the puck with finesse.

The contest was decided by a five player shoot-out.  The Mavericks goalie stopped the Thunder’s players at every turn.  On the other hand, the Mavericks scored three consecutive goals in the shoot-out to win the game.  Everyone was standing and cheering throughout the shoot-out.  Even for a hockey novice, this was quite exciting.

As a person who passionately wants our city to succeed, I count this evening as a significant milestone of progress.  Our city’s visionary-leaders should be very pleased with last week’s grand opening and tonight’s first game in the new Events Center.

I went to the hockey game tonight and we had a great time.  The arena was nice, the Mavericks won, and we will definately go back.  They do need a bigger parking lot but it looks like they are working on that.

GO MAVERICKS

The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter.

I'm going to the hockey game tonight (Saturday) and hope to have a good time.  Last time I was at a hockey game was to see the Blues in St Louis.  It's been years.

I never been to a Hockey game, but as to sports I,m not real into it.  Hockey would be my favorite if I were inclined to attend a game anywhere. Anyway, hope the center is a great success. :)
