But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again." - Terrence Mann, as played by James Earl Jones, in the classic baseball movie Field of Dreams.

Introduction

Hello all,

Just a brief introduction, if you don't mind.

My name is Bill Ivie and I am the new Manager of Information Technology for The Examiner. I am new to the area and still getting settled in, but look forward to getting acclimated and checking out the sights and sounds of Independence and the surrounding areas.

I have four children and am very much a "family man". I am a baseball historian that studies the game and everything about it extensively. I have a degree in Computer Programming and Network Management and have a very diverse background.
