I have been thinking about starting a political action committee group. To help find Candidates that would put taxpayers first and not churches and special intrest groups here in Independence. Would there be any intrest? And I would have to check with the Ethics Commission on what would have to be done to do it. If I tried to put such a group together would you show up or would it be something you would be interested in getting involved with?

I know that we are all in a hurry in today's world. But I would like to ask a favor of all drivers and any drivers you have in your homes.

And they want to complain about the lack of representation for the working class. But when it comes time to show up they forgot or it was raining or I couldn't get away from work.

Looking for 4 honest people for representative work in the City of Independence,Mo.
Must be honest and willing to listen to the will of the people of the City of Independence. And to ignore people and groups of intrest that do not favor the people you are hired for representing.
Must stop abuse of T.I.F financing and eminent domain and work to bring good industry to our city for there to be good jobs. This does not include Wally World or more low paying restaurant jobs. You must work for living wage jobs to be brought here.

While out doing some errands today. I noticed the perfect placement of Jim Page re-election signs in front of vacant properties on Noland rd. That the owner of that land was supposed to do something with and got how much from the City coffers to do it. Boy that said it all for me.LOL

Maybe in the parking lot of City Hall on a Sunday afternoon. Or in a park here in town. Just to give all citizens a chance to voice their opinions about how tired we all are of the attitude of our elected officials. And about the way they are wasting our tax dollars and not doing what is in our best intrest. And show the City Council we are watching what they are doing and we don't like it.
But I wonder if anyone would show up? Or would it be too much to ask of people, like voting. What do you all think?

I have refrained from lashing out at the ones that have to belittle and insult others during the conversations or blogs that I read here. But I would like to say that when you attack someone else because of their opinions and grammar it shows how little regard you have for others and yourself.

As I was working in my campaign here, I was asked if I would use the 12 million dollars owed to the City of Independence by Centerpoint Hospital as leverage to get an urgent care facility for western Indep. by the Citizens For Effective Leadership group. (to which I said "in a heart beat").

Thank you all for allowing me to try and run for city council here in Independence. And for you all in the blogs, that listened to my opinions here and for letting me see what some of Independence residents were thinking. And respectfully putting up with my thoughts and opinions.(get that word EJC respectfully) Thank You all.

I am writing this blog as a open apology to all who attended the League of Women Voters forum, that I missed last night. I went on what was supposed to be a quick trip to Denver and back on a team run truck. I thought we were going to make it till the truck decided we were not going to make it. Spent 3.5 hours waiting for a repair on I-70 between Ellis and Hays Ks. So I arrived in K.C. to late to attend and for that I am truly sorry.

Well I have been turned down by 2 groups for their endorsement in my campaign for city council. Although it would be nice to have had some kind of endorsement from someone in the political game, it is not needed. Because the only endorsement I am looking for is from the people of Independence, that are as tired of the political games as they are played here as I am. And political groups that just want the city to do what they as groups want to force upon the rest of us. To the way we spend our tax dollars, to how they want us to live our lives in what they think is best for us.

Can you tell by the shoes someone wears what kind of person they are? As I was cleaning the drywall dust off my new boots.(from a long over due project) It occurred to me that shoes might show a lot about a person.

Is it any wonder we have no average Americans running for any office in government. You can't make it without lots of cash to even run for a city council seat and you can't get the Ethics Commission's paper work right without a law degree or a lawyer on staff. And people will even call you out because of where you park your vehicle on your own property, to keep it from being stolen or broken into. I guess you should live in a bigger house if you are going to run for political office in this town.

As my campaign for a seat on the Independence city council draws closer. Some (citizens) have asked if I am taking contributions from individuals or groups. For which I have not. But my question to you all is should I? Or not take them and not owe anyone anything, except the taxpayers and citizens of the city to represent them and only have their interest to consider on decisions made.

Why not make the mall and all the other retail stores pay for more police to be in the area all the time. We already gave most of them tax breaks and school tax goes to Blue Springs schools. But you don't see Blue Springs officers out there do you?

As a canidate for city council dist.4.I met with all the city Unions today and I'm not sure they will endorse me, even though I am a union member. They have some very good concerns about the way the city is going to treat them in the future, and for the most part I agree with them on alot of the issues they have. (pensions, staffing of police and fire, equipment for city services and others)

As a long time Chiefs fan, I have had it with both Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson. I have been a fan for more years than most, my first game was at the old Municipal stadium downtown and till this year I have never given up on the Chiefs.

As I was out running errands the other day I noticed alot of retailers are going to be open on Thankgiving day.How are their employees going to be with their families on the holiday if they are going to be open?Oh,thats right it's more important for the retailer to get a little more profit, than for an employee to gather with friends and family to give thanks for what little they have working for the retailer who is going to be open on a Holiday, don't I remember all stores being closed except a few convenience stores that were open for those items that we forgot to get at the sto

Do you think the lead in toys and fake and dangerous drugs coming from outside the U.S.A. amoung other things.like loss of good jobs,Is going to make Americans wake up and demand American made products again?I know I buy as much as I can (made in U.S.A.)and will pay more for American made than I do if the product is imported. And should we reinstall tariffs the way other countries do on our products being imported to them?
